Let it be known that I am not someone who is easily offended. It is often very difficult to actually piss me off.

But THAT, right there, made me legitimately huff and tremble with rage. That is easily the most maddening thing I've read thus far.

I've read articles about this facility and places like it. The most horrifying part, by far, is that a significant number of kids who attend these "schools" end up being broken down and brainwashed into believing that they deserved to be there, and that what they went through was a good thing. Reading some of the quotes from former students was reminiscent of Winston tearing up over his love for Big Brother.

Am I the only one who wants to start a Mercenary group Private Security Contractor Service with the sole goal of locating each one of these camps, breaking out every kid there and razing the whole place to the ground before sending the camp workers off to a Blacksite undisclosed location?

I may have to write a story based on that.

Anybody else remember the 'Mormon Gulag' stories? That isn't even taking refuge in other countries to circumvent US laws. It functions right there in Utah and is more or less the same thing: kidnapping and torture of 'problem kids' for Jesus.

I think the biggest problem with 'camps' and 'schools' like these is that they're not especially well-known outside the communities that are most likely to view them favourably and employ their 'services' (aka, wealthy die-hard Christian extremists). I mean, a few years ago had someone told me that there were religious extremist Christian boot camps that kidnapped kids and teenagers AT THEIR PARENT'S ORDERS and forced them into several years of hard labour and brainwashing... to be honest, I would have been really skeptical. The only reason I'm not skeptical anymore is that I've seen and read a bit about them. Unless you've actually seen this crap, you're not really inclined to think it could really happen so none of the necessary outrage is triggered.

And in the case of the Mormon Gulags, the close ties through the Mormon church of the directors and owners and the people who donate money provide a legal shield.

This would make me sick but I don't have enough revulsion left to expend at the atrocities people commit in the name of religion.

Many of the parents didn't even research the school's history. They just saw some pictures of it on the internet and shipped their child there.

Burn them down, and sow the ground with radioactive waste. Then force everyone who works there to spend the rest of their lives there. Oh, and castrate the parents while you're at it. And ban them from ever seeing each other or their children ever again.

Seriously though, the owners and operators of this KNOW it is illegal (and engage in illegal and abusive behaviour) and that's why they set it up in the Dominican Republic. That fact right there is proof of their guilt.

It is not a Godwin to call these places forced labor camps.

In my earlier post I really considered saying Sherman tanks, but thought it might be in bad taste.

I'd be glad to help with field missions and tech R&D (also unofficially a torture expert).  Can we base it on an island or a group of offshore platforms like the Principality of Sealand?

I remember a similar story a while back about a similar school in Jamaica. The children were so baldly mistreated they were malnourished and suffered from severe infections. The places didn't allow the children to see medical professionals, and their approach to dealing with a sick child was to give them an aspirin and have them continue the normal routine of torture and brainwashing.

Places like these are beyond sick, and the scariest thing is, from watching the clip of that trailer, is that it didn't even look as bad as some of the other places out there. As a parent you really have to ask yourself if you can really trust any organization that believes kidnapping your child in the middle of the night and dragging them around like an animal even in public at the airports and such is the best course of action.

Places like these make me really sick. Their methods are basically textbook brainwashing techniques, and the permanent damage they do to the people who graduate, is scary. What is worse is how the children get so brainwashed that they even willingly take part in the degradation and torture of new initiates. Many of these people only realize after they leave and go for extensive therapy just what they did to others and how they regret their actions.
