Random thought:

Anita Sarkeesian is more of a gamer than self-proclaimed hardcore gamers who spend more time bitching about casuals on forums than actually playing video games.

Think about that for a moment.

How so? I'll be the first to agree that "pro leetzor 360noscope" types are fucking idiots who need to learn to enjoy their hobby without behaving like drooling mouthbreathers, but what exactly makes them less of a "gamer" than Sarkeesian? You're either a gamer or you're not, and the only qualifier is that you enjoy playing video games. Being a loud pain in the arse about it doesn't disqualify you, as unfortunate as that may be.

Not because they're drooling mouthbreathers.

But because they spend less time gaming than she does.

It's humor.

I didn't know it was possible to spend negative hours gaming.

Today, we celebrate the first glorious anniversary of the Information Purification Directives. We have created, for the first time in all history, a garden of pure ideology—where each worker may bloom, secure from the pests purveying contradictory truths. Our Unification of Thoughts is more powerful a weapon than any fleet or army on earth. We are one people, with one will, one resolve, one cause. Our enemies shall talk themselves to death, and we will bury them with their own confusion. We shall prevail!

Please ignore that woman with the sledgehammer, nothing will happen! Yes, comrades! We shall prevail!

The irony is that Apple has become what it once railed against.  If that commercial were made today, they'd be the ones on the big screen.

Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, it was a joke.

Why the hell does everyone - including one of our professional piss takers - have to be so damn serious?

What I said was also a joke.  But I can't speak for anyone else.

We just don't want to risk another GG thread spawning, that's all.   Well... that's just me, anyway.  We is me.     Now I'm talking like Queen Victoria.

I thought it was all a joke.

Well, minus Art's post.

On an entirely unrelated note, I want to perform an experiment.

Take a look at this twitter list. Describe your reaction. If possible, choose between

a) Makes perfect sense to me

b) I know what they are talking about, but I don't understand why

c) It all seems like an in-joke of some sort

d) Makes no sense at all.

I didn't read anywhere near all of it, but for what it's worth, I'll go with d, though c is a strong possibility.

I'll say B, but I could be wrong at what they're talking about.

Between B and D; I know some of what they're referring to, but the way they put it together as an alleged "conversation" makes no sense. I can't rule out that there's some in-joke going on (maybe some of it is more familiar phrases restated to sound more complicated?) but it's not anything I recognize as an internet meme or anything.

Am I the only one who finds the term "gamer" to be asinine? It's not even a relevant term anymore considering practically everyone plays vidya games. It's like calling yourself a "web head" at this point.
