Should I continue working overnights as a temp or look for a job at a pizza place? The place I'm at now pays well but it's forty minutes away and it makes it really hard to have a life outside work. A job at a pizza place might not pay as well but it'd be closer and would let me be awake during the day.

Stay where you are. Pizza places do not pay well at all, minimum wage. And unless you go corporate, there's no room for advancement. Most food service is night work, so that part is a wash with social life. I might go with a pizza place as a second job, but not as your primary.
