True story: Before Obamacare, woodpecker-related injuries were considered a pre-existing condition, and were not covered by most health insurance plans.   ;)

To me "No True Scotsman" is a good argument only when the arguer does something about the maniacs who make zir look bad (and or help the person wronged).

If a nice normal guy is miffed by slimy misogynists, he should tell said misogynists to "shove it".

While the cartoon only illustrates the people who immediately jump on the "not all" bandwagon at the first hint that someone in a group they belong to might have done something wrong, I do think it's understandable for someone to get frustrated when people make sweeping, all-encompassing statements about said groups. I tell misogynists and racists to shove it constantly, but I can still sometimes get angry when someone makes a comment about how "all men are rapist pigs who think about nothing but sex" or "all white people are racist bigots who want to rule the world."

If you look at it logically, cannibalism has great potential to simultaneously solve our overpopulation and food shortage problems.

It doesn't concern you, Sister, that kind of absolutist view of the universe? Right and wrong determined solely by a single all-knowing, all powerful being whose judgment cannot be questioned and in whose name the most horrendous acts can be sanctioned without appeal?

One thing that should be kept in mind is that shitty tabloid journalism is nothing new.  Just ask Fatty Arbuckle.

Is that car salesman wearing a kilt?
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

plaid pants... which actually were popular in some areas back in the 80's.
There is light and darkness in the world, to be sure.  However, there's no harm to be had in walking in the shade or shadows.

Except the 90s.  We had Jnco.  I wish they hadn't died off, they were the best pants ever.
