The majority of the comments seem to say 'What would Romney say to this girl?" I wonder.

He probably wouldn't have the spine to say anything.

Yeaaaaah. I highly doubt this is real. It reeks of made up bullshit.

It might be real, but it still reeks of PR bullshit.

Anyway, so what?

So he wrote a sweet letter in response to a little girl.

While everything he does affects his PR, he does have some personal values.  To think that he doesn't would be as delusional as thinking that he's a saint.

Yeah, it reads like a press release.

I'm not saying he doesn't have his own personal values, but point is that so what? A nice letter written to a little girl, with little evidence to show he actually wrote it, changes almost nothing.

And why does it have to change anything?

My point is that it doesn't. Yet many people take this opportunity to exclaim that Obama is a great guy/president, due to this one incident.

And why shouldn't they?

I mean, we generally praise people who do good things.  Kinda like the football players you praised.

So again, I ask, why does it matter if it doesn't change anything?  Why do you object to the praising of a heartwarming sentiment for the sake of praising a heartwarming sentiment?

Fuck it man.  Barack Obama is the first sitting president in history who would be willing to write that letter.  The very first.  Sure he's a politician, but that's still worth something.  It's worth something to that little girl.  It's worth something to all of the gay people in this country who want to be able to live their lives like human beings.  It's worth something to me.
