My friend, who was out of work for over a year, got a job at McDonalds.  He said he felt like crap for doing so, but I reminded him it's a paycheck, something he wasn't receiving before.

Well, it's bad enough that it's a shitty job and you're essentially a disposable asset. But McDonalds being a horrible company that almost regularly engages in at least morally dubious practices doesn't help.

I think I'd rather be a criminal who specializes in robbing the McDonalds corporation.

I've heard no complaints from him, other than the usual complaints from working anywhere that serves customers.  He says they pay and treat him well, and he's finally bringing money in again.
