Menendez, who was arrested after a tip by a passerby who saw her on a street and thought she looked like the woman in a surveillance video released by police, admitted shoving Sen, who was pushed from behind, authorities said.
"I pushed a Muslim off the train tracks because I hate Hindus and Muslims ever since 2001 when they put down the twin towers I've been beating them up," Menendez told police, according to the district attorney's office.
Sen was from India, but police said it was unclear if he was Muslim, Hindu or of some other faith. The 46-year-old lived in Queens and ran a printing shop.

By the way, people have always been messed up... people killing each other for trivial, racist reasons is nothing new, not that it is justified or cannot be changed. If all humans went a year, hell even a month, without anything like this happening I would be shocked (though really happy and extremely supportive of whatever caused the change).

Yeah, but it's only now that this sort of thing can get really publicised. I mean, the woman, to me, seems proud of what she did. And she seems not to know the difference between Hindus and Muslims...
EDIT: Next thing you know, she'll be pleading not guilty on the grounds that since he was just a Muslim, it wasn't a murder.

Poor WOMAN? Sorry, I have no pity for her at all if her motivations were racial and based upon the fact that he simply LOOKED like a Muslim. I feel sorry for the family of the man she shoved onto the tracks.

No, over 80% or so of the population is Hindu. However Sikhs are more likely to be mistaken for Muslims due to the fact that many wear turbans, and I doubt the average racist schmuck is going to realise that:
A) Not all people who wear turbans/head coverings are Muslim
and
B) Few Muslims wear turbans in the first place

I Think I was only surprised up until I was ten or something. I got used to fear mongering news media quickly, I suppose.
Though there's a difference between surprise and concern. Glad they caught this woman, people like that do not deserve to be around on the streets.
