I also got Skyrim for Christmas, but I have no clue what I'm doing.
Well I know the game itself, I just kept getting lost trying to find the quests.
Been playing mostly BF3 and AC: Revelations lately.
Is it just me or do shotguns in BF3 and MW3 have like a REDICULOUS amount of range? You should not be able to basically snipe people with a shotgun from like 30 yards away.
Also, speaking of Assassin's Creed (light spoilers):(click to show/hide)

Real shotguns have a much smaller spread (and thus, a longer range) than is commonly depicted in video games.
Every other Assassin's Creed game up to this point has had a cliffhanger ending, why would this one be different?

Okay well that makes a little more sense for the shotguns.
The AC ending just pissed me off because it was supposed to be the ending of a certain aspect of the seires and you'ld think that would give them room for a more clear cut ending.
Now I'm playing through Deus Ex: Human Revolution. So far it's pretty good, but brutal on mistakes.

Let me guess, the boss battles? A blight on an otherwise great game.

Darkness II demo was niiiice.
Is it on the LIVE Marketplace? If so, I am playing that motherfucker like WHOA.
Gold exclusive though (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/The-Darkness-II-Demo/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8025454889f)It's normal for Gold members to get access to demos a week before Silver members.
Thankfully, big bro has a gold LIVE account, and I got to play that motherfucker...it is...a thing of beauty.
Rerelease of the original Syndicate over at GoodOldGames. Ah, memories. Burning, screaming, hypnotised civilian memories.Funnily enough, that's what I just won me a copy of. Should be fun, methinks.
I remember that game, thought I don't remember much of what differed between the two endings.
-snip KotOR2 rant-I loved KotOR2, played it through close to a dozen times before the mod. I didn't know it was finally done, will have to get it and play again.
There were similar problems with Neverwinter Nights II. I know a guy who knows one of the people working on that game. Apparently, they were working on the game when the higher-ups abruptly fired a bunch of managers and jumbled around the entire team. The result was that some programmers were working on things that weren't their original work. The entire game is incredibly unfinished - some quests just have no clear ending, and there are still glitches that had to be (partially) fixed with patches. Oh, and the game's graphics are only okay, but for some reason it lags like a fat beached whale.
NWN I might have shitty graphics but at least it doesn't crash every ten minutes kthxbai
NWN2 had some definite problems, but technical and in terms of its pacing and gameplay. Mask of the Betrayer, on the other hand, ranks with Planescape: Torment as a masterpiece of storytelling. This, we can agree on.
So apparently after Everquest II did so, they're making the first one F2P (http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/30/its-official-everquest-goes-free-to-play/) now
Wait a minute, is her chest getting smaller?
Well, that's a pleasant surprise.
Did Lara Croft just get done rolling down Mud Mountain? You'd think she'd at least clean herself up a bit and change clothes before her photo-op...
You've never been on an island by yourself and having no time to take a bath after falling multiple times have you? I think it's more realistic that she gets dirtier as she goes on, without rest or a chance to wash off.Depends on how heavily swimming is featured in the game.
If the logic here is "it's realistic", I will probably not buy the game on the grounds that either they will not feature her pooping, which is not very realistic, or they will feature her pooping, which I'm not remotely interested in seeing. What if she doesn't poop, but suffers a ruptured colon if you don't finish the game within a week or so?
There's no water on the island? She has no ability to wipe off her face? No, my impression from things I've read is she starts off perfectly clean but gets dirtier as you continue on.
Also, IF the mechanic is that she gets dirtier as she is exposed to dirt, that might make sense. I was under the impression this was a static model.

There's such a thing as having a bit of realism so that your immersion is better.
Holy crap...am I the only one who read that as "Dominoes 3" and almost audibly WTFd?
DC Universe is a free to play, I think, which means there's no risk to trying it out beyond time spent downloading. I don't know about the others, though.

Combining music from Red Alert 3 with Age of Wonders works very well...especially when playing as the Undead and deciding to go scorcher on everyone, using the Animate Ruins spell to make insta-cities.Well, I tend to take them as they are, not even resettle. My favourite troop composition are Dark Elf blade-dancers transported by a Human airship, and if needed Elf archers for ranged and vampires for subversion and reinforcement. In the last game I played, I used all these units while my starting faction were Archons. My friends think I'm crazy.
(For those who don't know, "going scorcher" means that, whenever I capture a town, I either loot or raze it, preferably loot it.)
Blade-dancers? Vampires? You using a mod, or are you talking about one of the sequels?Yeah, sequel.
Fuck frostlings, seriously.
Your dick might get frozen if you do that.
Fuck frostlings, seriously.
Hmm...ya know, the Frostlings never give me much guff. The ones that always piss me off are the Elves. I can count on one hand the number of times I've played as the fucking Highmen, and those pricks declared war on me the moment they saw me.
I've been abusing the fuck out of Gold Dragons lately.

I love flying units.
Zis ist the game: Age of Wonders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Wonders). Und ist very, very good strategy game.

New info that's just been released. Assassin's Creed III is set during the American Revolution.

I'm wondering how they're going to deal with all of the guns in the setting. The series is mostly centered around melee combat.
The setting also means less cities and more countryside. The cities in colonial America weren't nearly as large or grand as the ones in Europe.
I'm having a tough time deciding if I should pre-order: Max Payne 3, Darksiders II, Borderlands 2, The Witcher 2, Dragon's Dogma, Bioshock Infinite, Prey 2, and Tomb Raider.
That's a lot of games and many of them come out in the same month. I can't afford it all. :( Maybe Tomb Raider, Witcher 2, Borderlands 2, and Max Payne 3.

Create islands with stories for others to explore! Using the built-in Island Builder, arrange your island's terrain, scenery, town shops. Place actors (non-player characters) and write their dialogue (the story they tell).
Voyage from island to island. Go on solo adventures or form expedition parties to tackle the wilderness. Beyond the safety of town, numerous creatures lurk in the darkness. Equip yourself before setting out to explore and clear away the darkness. Rewards of experience and resources are waiting to be claimed by intrepid adventurers.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already, but if not then I have some horrible news. It seems Terraria's developers have essentially abandoned it in its current state. Not that Terraria as it is right now isn't a great game, but goddamnit, after all the amazing shit they added in 1.1 and the various ideas they had for future updates, it could've been so much more.Welcome to Starbound (http://playstarbound.com/about/)
I'm quite sad right now.

It's essentially a 2D Platformer deconstruct-reconstruct world, similar to Minecraft. It also happens to have some things that are similar to Minecraft, and the fact that night time is when you either have shelter or die.Strictly speaking, that's only at the very beginning of the game. Once you have even a wooden broadsword, you can easily survive outside at night, if only because the knock-back is enough to keep demon eyes and zombies at bay.
>_>
Sooooo... who here loves fighters?
Anyone get SFxTK yet? Is it any good?
I'll probably end up getting it used, since I still need to get Soul Calibur 5, the new Blazblue, and Skullgirls.
My wallet hates me. But its another good year for fighters, so...

Really when you get at high enough level you should be targeting the casters first. All the time. They're the ones who'll fuck you up the worst.
Ironbite-thankfully even though I play a caster in Pathfinder...its more like I'm a Digimon trainer then anything else.
Well, I'm officially addicted to Terraria now. Thanks a lot, jerks.
Nah, but seriously, this game rules.
Oh god, Terraria looks like something I'd enjoy. Now I have to try it this weekend.
I finally did the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. I -had- to continue my Liara/FemShep relationship but I hadn't until now. Eeeeeeeeeee! I died from the cute.

Yeah, I love the battle atop the ship itself, especially when using throw, charge, etc. I also love all the bonuses you get once you complete the mission.
My wife bought me ME3 for an early birthday present. I've been avoiding the ME3 thread because I don't want to be spoiled on the story. Overall it's fun though it seems like you have less choices this time around. Also, the controls are a little loose. I've been killed a few times when I went to duck behind a wall but I instead rolled and stood up.
I liked Miranda's and Jack's. I was hoping there'd be one on me. :(

Yeah that would be cool. The other thing that annoys me about ME3; "Insert Disc 2, insert Disc 1, insert Disc 2, insert Dis 1." I've been doing this every other mission! I actually yelled at my TV, "Make up your #%^#@$ mind!"
I also kind of wished they had even a small practice range on the Normandy so I wouldn't have to go down to the Citadel whenever I wanted to try out a new gun.

For my "definitive" playthrough of ME2, I saved that scene for the very last. That was beautiful.
Back over to Mass Effect 3 now that I finished ME2. Gotta see what my romance with Liara does in ME3.

Thus far, they've said a few cute things to each other in my game, but I think I'm only about halfway through, if that.
What is it with people on DDO and dissing my fucking characters? My little Drow Ninja Monk got dissed because, due to her being a two-weapon fighting Monk, had high AC as a result. I got dissed for "AC tanking."
To be honest, DDO just doesn't have the race I want to play as (Dragonborn)
...Most MMOs don't for that matter.
Oh, but you suggest it, and you get the following messages
"GNOMES FIRST!"
"Dragonborn? I don't want that stupid 4E shit in my game. Besides, the dragons of Eberron kill half-dragons on sight, it would break the lore." (Ignoring the fact that Dragonborn originated in a 3.5 side book, and are NOT half dragons, but instead an entirely unique type of dragon that serves and worships the big good dragon. Which in this case would be Eberron.)
"Ew, no, they'd be overpowered." (Not really...)
To be honest I miss the gnomes and I don't understand why they were excluded. But re: Dragonborn, I actually think they're really awesome. IIRC they were originally humanoids who had given up their human form in exchange for becoming champions of Bahamut, and gaining a motherfucking dragon head in the process. Now that is badass.
Fun activity: When playing Spirit Tracks, try naming Link "you cunt". It makes for rather amusing dialogue. The highlight would have to be Zelda screaming "AHHHH! YOU CUNT!" whenever you fuck up and destroy the train.
Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion will allegedly feature hand-drawn sprites and some awesome 2D platforming elements, which is appropriate, as it turns out that the game is a follow-up the SEGA Genesis classic, Castle of Illusion.
As the latest issue of Nintendo Power (via About.com) reports, those longing for a sequel to cult-favorite Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will finally be getting their wish, only on Nintendo’s 3DS. Along with the traditional platforming elements that made the original game so much fun in 1991, Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion will feature hand-drawn sprites in an effort to recreate that classic Genesis vibe. Players will find time to admire this classic look while traversing with Mickey through all kinds worlds based on Disney’s animated films, including everything from the likes of the well-known Sleeping Beauty to the more recent Tangled.
Picked up the new tropic 4 expansion, it's pretty cool.
Adds in a new tab of edicts ranging from banning twitter(including the in game functionality) to creating a festival of love. Also Chinese development assistance, which is a horrible, horrible joke.
The new time line feature is pretty cool, randomized events with significant impact on your options along with 30ish buildings unlocking over the years. And private health care!
Haven't tried the new campaign, but never finished the old one either.
Tropico is pretty fun. Haven't played 4 yet, though, since it's quite pricey.

I bought 3 first and played it for quite a while, but after getting four I can honestly say it's worth the price. Most of the DLC is kinda questionable, but I have rather enjoyed placing soldier statues throughout my little hell hole. It's kinda funny that the most expensive one is the one honestly worth the money.
Hello!
I am a friend of someone who recently got sacked from RockStar North for general misconduct. Because one contract to RockStar covered everything, including secrecy, and his contractual obligaton was now removed, he was legally allowed to spill the beans on Rockstar’s upcoming GTA V. And he is making damn sure everyone knows about it.
Here is the info you really want:
1. The protagonist will be one character, and one character alone. His name is (as some rumours said) Albert De Silva. He’s a half hispanic man who was once part of a crime family in Vice City. He decided to settle down and have kids in Los Santos. He has one son called Kevin De Silva who is your stereotypical CoD player. He’s lazy, useless and shouts racial abuse online and is really into FPS games. Kevin does admire his Dad though.
2. Multiplayer will hold 32 people on the Xbox and PS3. I wasn’t told how many were able to be on the PC. Just like in RDR, players will be able to form Gangs. These gangs are not ranked through XP anymore, but via Reputation. Instead of gang hideouts, you can do jobs that range from robbing a launderette to breaking into a military base and stealing state-of-the-art weaponary. The Gang leader has much more control over his or her gang by being able to rank members of their gang and setting more specific objectives to specific members of their gang. Gangs can have their own terratory but this only applies to areas inside the city of Los Santos.
3. The map is about 5x as large as the GTA IV map and the City of Los Santos takes up just under half of this area (so it’s a bit bigger than 2 GTA IV Liberty Cities).
The map is (like most GTAs) seperated into three different sections. 4. Planes are flyable, they range from World War 2 fighter planes to Private Jets.
5. Cars and guns are customisable to an extent, for example, you can cusomise a gun to have a supressor on it and you can install nitrous into cars.
Here’s some stuff you might like:
1. The protagonist is the “rich guy” from the GTA V debut trailer. You get to learn more about this man in the second when he talks about his troubles. You only see the protagonist twice in the trailer. First time is the side of his face and second time is when he is driving a Deceptor (Audi R8). The people robbing the jewellery store are just with the protagonist. He is driving the van ready to get away.
2. Gunfights are more realistic. When you are shooting a gun out of a window of a car, depending on how fast it’s going you will have troubles aiming due to shaking cameras.
3. The game is due in May 2013. A more specific date has not been decided because the game is still needing 6 months to be fully developed. They will have a playable demo at E3.
4. Police chases are now way more than either running or driving. Depending on how wanted you are, police may bring out riot shields and flash bangs. 5. When someone reaches 4 star wanted level, there will be a radio warning on some stations.
6. Radio stations now do traffic reports that are actually correct. So if you don’t know what route to take, you can check the traffic reports on your phone or the radio. 7. The in-game TV now has many more channels
8. [Editor's note: the following point contains spoilers for RDR and L.A Noire] The protagonist DOES NOT die unlike in the last two Rockstar games.
9. The underworld actually has a working economy that you can contribute too by buying and selling drugs, weapons and illegal cars in single player.
10. The protagonist can take drugs which will have some effects. But smoking weed on the streetwalk will lead to getting a one star wanted level.
11. Police cars will go after you if you’re obviousely breaking the speed limit. Having high speed crashes will also damage your health.
Wanted levels:
1 star – police follow you on foot and try to make an arrest. No sirens, no car chases (unless you are speeding).
2 star – police will still attempt to make an arrest. If a weapon is drawn then the police will begin opening fire. Police will use stun guns if a weapon is not drawn.
3 star – Chases begin and the police don’t care how they stop you, they just want to do it.
4 star – road traps, radio stations and much more hostile police.Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 24 in-game hours for someone matching your description.
5 star – shoot to kill, arrest only if it’s made very possible. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 48 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Few missions become unavailable if you are wanted.
6 star – military vehicles come after you. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 72 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Some missions become unavailable if you are wanted.
A treasure chest in dark souls just ate me.
I opened it up, it grew arms and fucking ate me.
WTF MAN

People have told me about how, in Skyrim, with the Deadly Dragons mod, it's taken them 2 hours to defeat a single dragon, with a single mistake netting them instant death... and how absolutely great it is.
And then they treat me like a freak when I don't agree with them.
To be fair, these are the same people who think Master is a cakewalk.
Meanwhile, I encounter struggle on Adept.

I'd be inclined to say that its not so much that they think its a cakewalk as much as they think every game should be as hard as Dark Souls and have masochistic tendencies.
Even on master difficulty this is a children's game in terms of difficulty. Dragons are also pathetic.

This isn't just that guy's opinion. It's more or less the accepted opinion shared by the entire forum. :-/
I got SA on most missions, but I still had trouble with a few of them, like the Playboy mansion and mental hospital.

I watched a live stream of someone playing that game. The streamer was losing his shit throughout, and I'll admit I was tense as hell just from watching.
I'm starting to love my soon-to-be Arcane Archer. There's something about being able to kill skeletons with a bow on elite (which, normally, is all but impossible because of DR) that's just intensely pleasing.

The main problem I had was sneaking into the morgue at the end. You don't get SA unless you return with your suit, but since you leave from that place, you need to sneak in and leave without alerting the guards (one standing right there and one looking from the opposite building). How did you manage to get past them?Maybe it's a glitch, but it seems you're allowed in the morgue as long as you have the key. Even when an orderly walks in while I'm inside, he won't get pissed off at me unless he sees me in the act of reviving the CIA fellow.
Sleepy did not warn me of the amount of boob in Witcher 2. I have to be very careful of when I play the game now.

XD Yeah, I've seen some very, gratuitous parts in video game videos on youtube. I can see how that would be surprising if you weren't expecting it.

Cazadors? Yeah I fucking hate those things with a passion.
The main problem I had was sneaking into the morgue at the end. You don't get SA unless you return with your suit, but since you leave from that place, you need to sneak in and leave without alerting the guards (one standing right there and one looking from the opposite building). Sounds like when, in the first mission (not the tutorial), you can shoot the son downstairs while he's sniffing, and even if they find the body, it still counts as SA. Weird.

I don't know how you wouldn't have expected it. The boobs were pretty much the only thing about the game that the gaming press talked about leading up to it's release.

Note, Never taunt them from a high place that they can't seem to get up. At least one of them has left to go find a way up there, and you'll barely hear the buzz before you die.
I did expect it. I thought I pointed that out. What I didn't expect was the amount.
Yay, I beat Avadon: The Black Fortress. Went the loyalist route with a blademaster, so next time I play it, I'm going to opt for a traitor shaman or sorceress.
Now it's time to start working on either Avernum or Geneforge. I fucking love Spiderweb Software's games.I did expect it. I thought I pointed that out. What I didn't expect was the amount.
Had something similar happen when I played Still Life. So many dead, gory boobs in that game.
I was playing my Pokemon SS game again, and I found out my Clefable, Cuddles has enough EV to get the Effort Ribbon. Now I just need to finish off his moveset (including giving him Frustration), p*** him off, and send him into the Battle Hall. I'm not counting on him doing well, but it'll be fun to try.
Have a new hatred for Deathclaws.
It's an interesting story. I enjoyed it for the most part, but there were some downsides. It was a bit cheesy at times (not to mention the gratuitous boobs) and the walking back and forth got redundant after a while. Plus, I would have liked to have had more control over the outcome. It felt more like interactive fiction, where you had to solve puzzles to advance the plot, as is typical of these sorts of point and click adventures.
One thing to keep in mind: The ending of the first game leaves a large chunk of the details unresolved, including one rather important plot point, forcing you to buy the second one if you want closure.
I haven't really had a chance to play Still Life 2 thanks to my computer being a piece of crap and refusing to run it properly.
Random, unrelated side-note: The voice acting in Dead Mountaineer's Hotel SUCKS. One character sounds like he's reading off a list of grocery items or something -- it has that same monotone and weird inflection you get when the teacher makes 5th graders take turns reading aloud from a book -- while another constantly sounds like he's angry or sarcastic, even when he's supposed to be acting friendly or soothing. It makes him (the alleged hero of the game) come across as a dick.

Don't have the DLC so I'm not worried bout them and also....that Deathclaw was suffering from Radiation sickness so it was weaker.
Ironbite-show me a Tunneler killing the Legendary Deathclaw and we'll talk

Isn't it easier to use Return instead? Since, well, it's easier to raise Happiness than to lower it. But if you insists, feed the thing a lot of Herbs and try . Also, if you have 2 DS/have a friend, trading resets Happiness back to its default level (around 70), so you could try that. Here's a more detailed FAQ about Happiness (http://www.gamefaqs.com/ds/925601-pokemon-diamond-version/faqs/48344) if you want more info.
Riot Shotguns also work wonders.

Couldn't find a video on YouTube, have the Xbox 360 version (so no console usage to spawn a Tunneler and Legendary Deathclaw in the same location), and even if you could use the developer's console in the 360 version, my 360 controllers have stopped working, even with the batteries changed. But, really, Tunnellers are mainly dangerous because they come in swarms, whereas Deathclaws hit like trucks. It's really a matter of if you're better with crowd control (read: explosives) or killing a single enemy quickly.
But, my fiancee's trying to talk me into doing a Torchlight 2 Give away, anyone else here interested in the game?

My Pokemon, Cuddles, is currently up to 90 wins in the Battle Hall. Not bad for an odious little puffball, though I'm not sure how much longer she'll last.
I'm actually looking forward to it on concept, but the execution, being a complete theorycraft for people not actively working on the project, is still a mystery to me and as such I have no opinion on that yet.

But, given the sheer size of the existing universe for scrolls, they should have a solid base of content to build on.
I can say, though, that regardless of how good it is, there will be people bitching and whining about it. Just like people bitch and whine about every new thing that comes out lately. Because they build up their own personal hype so high that there is literally nothing that can be done to satisfy it.

Well I do have a bit of news for you. I know what type of engine it'll run on. Hero according to Lordkat who was looking at specs on his stream.
Ironbite-take that for what you will.
I've started playing TF2 again. Fun times.

I think you've been stuck in the modern lands of brown for too long :P
The color isn't the problem. It's the cartoonish art style. To me, it looks more like WoW than it does Elder Scrolls.

Meh, every other AAA MMORPG on the market has been completely destroyed by World of Warcraft in a matter of months. What the fuck makes Bethesda think that they'll fare any better?

Can Charizard learn Fly?It's been able to ever since Yellow version.
So guys, I'd like a little advice. I'm currently playing through Pokemon Leaf Green and I'm not quite sure who I want on my team. I'm currently up to Vermillion City and I've already got a Charmeleon and a Mankey (debating whether to swap it for a Hitmonlee when I get to Saffron). What would you guys recommend for my other four pokemans? Oh, and I'm strongly leaning towards Snorlax, Starmie and either Jolteon or Magneton as additions, though their inclusion in my team is by no means certain.
Well, after looking at stats, it seems Dugtrio is absolute ass, so it definitely will not be a part of my team. I must say Rhydon is looking like a very nice possibility. The only worry now is that my team will be too heavily geared towards physical attack and defense. Granted, I do have three special attackers, though I'm not sure any of them would be well suited to tanking special attacks.
That said, I'm only doing the single player story so it should be more than up to the task.

Well, Chansey is a bastard and a half to catch, but Blissey is a wonderful special wall. Just sayin'.
Speaking of Pokemon, just this afternoon while playing HeartGold I've managed to beat Blue and obtain my 16th badge. Now I'm preparing to face off against Red; any advice for my party?
Here is my party:
Typhlosion L77 - Sunny Day, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Solarbeam
Ho-Oh L72 - Sacred Fire, Fly, Earthquake, Recover
Mamoswine L73 - Ice Fang, Earthquake, Rock Tomb, Light Screen
Lapras L71 - Surf, Blizzard (utilizing Red's permanent Hail), Thunderbolt, Psychic
Dialga L83 (Hooray for 2 DS!) - Roar Of Time, Dragon Claw, Flash Cannon, Earthquake
The last slot is for my HM Slave Bibarel, unfortunately.
For anyone who's interested, Tropico 4 is on sale on Steam for $13.59 (normally, it's $39.99) until Monday evening. DLC is also on sale.
With all your levels in the 70's, you could probably wipe the floor with him using only Hoppips and Luvdiscs.

Well since Red has the absolute highest leveled 'mons in the series... (L88 Pikachu w/ Light Ball anyone?) I still think it's gonna be a long gorefest.

Are there any expansions out yet? It feels wierd to see it sitting on the shelf alone, right next to Tropico 3: The Ultimate Pack.
Well, that's quite a jump. Usually even the Elite 4 are only leveled in the 50's and 60's.
Following my Clefable, Cuddles' crushing defeat in match 91 of the Battle Hall, I'm looking to either train a Dragonite for the Bh or build a Battle Tower Team. If I go for the BT, I'm thinking of Scizor, Swampert, and Togekiss.
That reminds me, if you want to train up a new pokemon from scratch, I'd highly recommend Slaking. Teach ithyper beamGiga Impact, give it a silk scarf and it'll easily one hit KO opponents that are several levels higher. Base physical attack stat of 160 is a wonderful thing.
Tomb Raider has been delayed. I has a sads.

Better delayed than shoved out at the deadline with 500 glitches and a hurriedly stitched together plot, right?
Got a Gamestop gift card from my mom as a late BD present. I was going to buy Tropico 4, but they were out, so I bought Dragon Age 2.

What a waste of a gift card. Couldn't you have waited until they had it back in stock?
Don't like Dragon Age, but it was cheap since it was used, so I didn't lose anything. I tried the Tropico demo, liked it, and bought it off Amazon for half of what Gamestop wanted.
While I wait for that, it's back to my Pokemon game and the Battle Tower. My planned team is;
Togekiss (Serene Grace) w/ wide lense
Extreme Speed (STAB move for those times when I REALLY need to hit first)
Air Slash (great STAB move)
Aura Sphere (100% acc and great vs. steel)
Flamethrower/Heat Wave (great vs. Steel)
Scizor (Technician) w/ focus sash
Bullet Punch (first-strike and STAB)
X Scissor/Bug Bite (STAB)
Brick Break
Night Slash
Swampert w/Leftovers
Waterfall (great STAB physical attack)
Earthquake (ditto, and no, not the poke!)
Ice Punch (Dragon-killing move)
Surf (to use against strong Defensive opponents)
Also, Tropico 4 Q; does the game have a sandbox mode in case you don't want to play actual missions?Yes it does, you can pick from any of the existing maps, as well as generate a new random one.
Thinking of buying Crysis Warhead, just so I can play Mechwarrior Living Legends. It isn't out yet, but this is rolling along towards release: http://mwomercs.com/
Just bought Beat Hazard today. Now my eyes are bleeding.

Have you tried 200% visual intensity yet? It's even better.
Scratch that, Platinum looks to be both cheaper and better (seriously, that seasons mechanic in Gen V can fuck right off). I must say this sounds rather promising.
I ended up giving Diamond to my friend because I like Platinum better. I don't remember why except that Platinum has the entire Battle Frontier. Also, battles in Platinum don't take a million years.

Nothin wrong with an average game. Better average than a piece of yearly-installment shovelware bullshit that EA likes to pump out like an OCD person with a masturbation problem.

Red Dead Redemption is gorgeous. It's a serious contender for "prettiest outdoor landscapes in a video game."

I want you to try and count all of the western themed video games you can think of off the top of your head. I can only come up with about 3, and most of them are pretty mediocre.
The old west is a setting that is extremely underused in the video game industry.

Like the first World War. Counting fantastical interpretations of the Great War, the only two games I can think of that contain it as something playable in-game are Red Baron and The Darkness.
We need more World War I games.
Also, steampunk. We need far more steampunk games.
Come to think of it. Anything besides high fantasy and modern warfare would be a breath of fresh air at this point.
If Ubisoft made an Assassin's Creed game set in the ancient far east, somewhere around the Japanese Sengoku period or the Chinese Tang or Ming dynasties. I would throw my money at the screen so fast it would explode on impact.
A game with the option of non-automatic billing is pretty much the best way to go about things besides using a pre-paid card and it seems Istaria has both. I'd say go for it and if you don't like it after a month then don't bother with it again. Personally, a game with interactive housing or property always interest me, I might have to give this a try.
So I got Dark Souls a day ago, started playing it today and two FUCKING skeletons keep on killing me over and over again. Either I'm doing something wrong or this game is designed for post-humans with intellect and reflexes far surpassing mine.
And considering most gaming, I'm shocked that the first game actually included Muslims and was set in Palestine/Judea/the Holy Land.

Finally started playing Fallout: New Vegas again. One of my saves was in the middle of the Dead Money DLC, so I fired that one back up to get it taken care of. Several hours of frustration later, I have managed to set off the fireworks. (I had previously gathered the team.) Whoever made those maps should be fired! It wasn't an issue of "oh crap, there is poisonous gas there." It was "OK, how do I get to the quest marker? It's right there, but there is a wall in my way and I cannot get around it." On top of that, the character I was playing with is not statted for melee weapons, but that is all I can use to attack. (I did find a gun - which is the character's strength - but there is only so much ammo and I don't know if I will need it later. Can't hit worth a darn with the spears.)

Oooh did you get the Holorifle? I think that might be one of the more powerful guns in the game.
Ironbite-should save some money up and get Dead Money....heard it's an awesome expansion.
Meh...I don't truck with Melee weapons. Much prefer sniper to close quarters combat.
Ironbite-best to take care of things before they get to you I always say.
Which is why, if I make a melee/unarmed character, I always splash em with some explosives skill. A deathclaw's nothing if they go thru a minefield getting to you.

Yes, but I am lacking in ammo. I have 9 rounds left. I thought it used MF Cells, so I made more of them. No, it uses MF Cell B's, which I do not have, cannot find, and cannot make.
I decided to take my pimped out, level 42, power armour clad Courier to the Lonesome Road for the first time, expecting a rather easy OWB, or HH type playthrough.

If there is one major flaw in Fallout: NV's gameplay, it's that you can only have one human companion with you at a time. I want to roam around the wasteland with my badass team.
As of this writing, this is a picture of how much area of my island I've got under my boot. Its not much, but its significant.

I've decided to buy Minecraft. Should be mine within a few days (i.e. when the money transfers to Paypal). How does the game work exactly? Is it PvE or PvP or both? Does one have to find a server? If so, does one have to compete/work with/interact with other people on that server?

-ahem- I've decided to replay Pokemon Emerald, and so far I've beaten Roxanne. My current team so far is:
Combusken Lv16
Ralts Lv13
Slakoth Lv12
Any suggestion as to what 'mons I should get next? I also need a good Water-type whose name isn't Milotic, Gyarados (stupid Atk/SpAtk by type division...), or Kyogre.
I haven't either, but I must admit, the idea of Star Wars themed dance-offs is really growing on me. Hell, it's the most creative thing anyone's done with Star Wars since, well, fucking ever. It's a positive breath of fresh air to see the characters resolving their differences in ways that don't involve space battles, blaster shootouts and/or lightsaber duels.

In other words, it's reached "So bad it's great" territory. ;D
One of the most common comparisons I've heard is like a cross between Skyrim and Dark Souls which is what got me interested in the first place, but the reviews I've seen tend to be all over the place.
Is this better or worse than the Star Wars Holiday Special?

Zangief = villain? Dafuq?
Zangief = villain? Dafuq?
I suppose it could be that they simply assumed that since he is a russian (commie soviet to be excact) he must be the bad guy. Or it could be because in the Raul Julia movie he was working for the bad guys as well as some of the comics apparently. Likewise it could simply be that they thought having a big russian guy in a funny accent make such a smart speech would be funny.
Or it could be something more subtle, after all in the game Zangief is more of a rival than a villain therefore even though the player (unless played as Zangief) must defeat him to win the game Zangief himself isn't evil.

Notice that he uses the term "bad guy"
Not "villain"
In video games, the "bad guy" is anyone who fights against you.
Therefore, he doesn't need any deep motives, or evil history, or any sorta thing... he just needs to be an enemy :D

Has anyone here played Catherine? I think most people generally agreed that it was a shitty game, and yet I can't shake the urge to play it and find some stuff I might've overlooked in the first playthrough.(click to show/hide)
I'm a bit surprised with the lack of Diablo 3 commentary. But that's maybe because they're too busy playing the game.
IMO, it's much better balanced than D2 (as in no clearly useless skills, fewer completely useless item mods). My 2 cents on the next patch is that they shouldn't nerf IAS (it's not overpowered to the point that it's a "must have" over other good modifiers), and they shouldn't nerf act2 inferno. While it is ridiculously hard, that's kinda the whole point of inferno difficulty.
Also, Checking out the secret world beta this weekend, if anyone wanted to know anything I can rattle out a summary.
"When people play Lara, they don't really project themselves into the character," Rosenberg told me at E3 last week when I asked if it was difficult to develop for a female protagonist.
"They're more like 'I want to protect her.' There's this sort of dynamic of 'I'm going to this adventure with her and trying to protect her.'"
So is she still the hero? I asked Rosenberg if we should expect to look at Lara a little bit differently than we have in the past.
"She's definitely the hero but— you're kind of like her helper," he said. "When you see her have to face these challenges, you start to root for her in a way that you might not root for a male character."

What.

Really, IGN? Why do people hate EA? How much did EA pay you to write this piece of shit?
You really want to know why? Well, here's a simple little picture to give you a decent idea.(click to show/hide)
I'm pretty impressed, I've had to think, search (including a google search, in game), and have distinct crowd control and single target abilities based on what comination of attacks I use. And the Siren's song is awesome.... I've got a pre-order in on this, if anyone else does I figure a crew of 2 or 3 would make combat a bit less tedious and make it more likely we'll get these hints they toss at us.
Go figure I'd use the internet on a phone in a video game before I did it on my own.
And, yet, no one ever mentions the unsung gem of Westwood that was NoX.
Also, just watch this (http://spoonyexperiment.com/2012/05/29/ultima-9-ascension/) and Spoony will tell you, at least partially, just how EA fucked Origin.

I have to figure his Ultima 9 rant, and let's face it that's what this is gonna become, is gonna be in quite lengthy and meaty. I mean this is the game that offically squashed his childhood and made him the man he is today. This game...this game...this game is un-fucking-believable.
Ironbite-and yes...you know what voice you read that last line.
I'm mostly enjoying it, but find some of the things needlessly difficult. (Like not giving the player the shopping list for the explosives maker after picking up the quest. Took me 20 minutes to find it in the circle.) I wish there was a /queststuck feature that would give a hint if the player gets stuck. (I forgot the clue an NPC mentions in a cut scene that tells you who to talk to to advance the Templar story quest. All the journal said was "Talk to the Survivors" to get information. There are a lot of survivors, and I talked to a lot of them (picking up their quests along the way) without finding the 1 I had to talk to. (A question in General chat got me the hint I needed.)Honestly, I found it kinda cool. Particularly when I talked to the NPC and realized that the game expected thought from me I started handling the missions far better. It is a bit of a pain, but it makes a group of people worth more than just extra fighting power, chat could help clear these things up, mutiple people cover ground faster in circles... but I'm just overly fond of RP being part of an RPG again.
At first, I hated combat since I did not have ranged or AoE (Fist/Chaos). I dropped Chaos for Pistols briefly yesterday, giving me ranged and AoE. Combat is a lot easier now.Out of all of them Chaos seems to be the biggest pain in the ass, I'm guessing it pays off later. That said Assault Rifle is awesome, particularly after re-binding some of the controls to my mouse using it's programming features. Lock and Load w/ improvement = instant fullpower aoe finisher barrage. Thinking I'll be going that and blood magic for a main. Not to mention it's fastest attack also heals you.
I'm not pre-ordering, but that is mostly because I need to save my money. Hopefully once I get a job, I will be able to pick up the game and start.I'll let you know if they start up any friend programs, could always be fun.
Anyone know where one might buy a digital copy of American McGee's Alice? I have Alice: Madness Returns, but I kind of want to try out the original game too.
Edit: Also, I noticed you mentioned playing Thief. Does it run well on your laptop? I've been thinking about getting it, but I'd rather not buy it if it isn't going to be playable with my crappy graphics card.
I really REALLY hate these XBox Live updates. Every time I have to download one, I can't get back online and have to spend about 20 minutes trying again and again and again. I messaged them, and they said there shouldn't be a problem, even after I sent them a copy of the actual error. Ugh! At least it finally worked, after 20+ minutes!

"Casual games" are games that require little effort or time to play, and don't really have much to offer once you've mastered them. (i.e. browser flash games, Facebook games, iPhone games, a decent majority of handheld games, arcade-style run and gun shooters, and just about everything in the Wii library.)

Knowing Valve, that flamethrower WILL be released.
And it'll set opponents on... joy?
I dunno, what will it do?
I bought the first two parts of "On the rain slick precipice." The Penny arcade game series and although the games were really short I did enjoy them. (Besides they are really REALLY cheap games so I can't really complain about the shortness.)
I'm probably gonna get the third one as well.
So played the Dawnguard dlc for Skyrim. Absolutely loved it. Added SEVERAL hours of gameplay and the final boss was actually a bit of a challenge compared to the main game final boss.

Are we talking actually challenging, or just challenging by Bethesda standards?

That would be nice. I also hope they rework the barbaric/pagan/non-'civilised' powers e.g. so Britannia doesn't take over huge chunks of northern and eastern Europe.

I found (and bought) an oddity in DDO today...a +1 True Law Absolute Chaos Longsword. For those of you not familiar with D&D, that makes the weapon both Lawful and Chaotic in alignment, which should be impossible. I'll get photographic evidence...but, that thing was only 1,000 platinum in the auction house, which was absurdly cheap for something that unique.
Taco Cart kicked major ass with that thing in the Chronoscope raid, lemme tell ya.

WOAH. Dude, that's just... holy shit, man. You should keep that thing just for the novelty value. How is that even possible?
Why the fuck would you ever pay real money for a freaking Facebook game in the first place?

I know people have different opinions, but how do you go from, "glitches and control issues," to "This game is awesome!" between two reviews?Pure luck on glitches, and however a person is wired with the controls.
After seeing people on a lot of forums talk about DDO, I finally decided to break down and reactivate my account. This is a tad random, but if there are a few other people out there who were interested I'd be willing to kill some time trying this out as a FSTDT group of sorts. Just have to decide a server if I remember correctly.
Just got Dragon's Dogma, and it probably has the most hilariously out of place, yet awesome title music:

Playing Skyrim. I am just about sick of everyone in Whiterun.
"Do you get to the Cloud District very often? Oh what am I saying, of course you don't"
"I work with my mother, to sell fruits and vegetables. It's fun most days, but hard work."
"I work for Belethor, at the General Goods store."
"Skjor says I have the strength of Ysgrammor, and my brother has his smarts"
"Come to Dragonsreach to discuss the ongoing hoshtilities, like the rest of the great warriors?"
OH MY GOD SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT THE FUCK UP

Do the puzzles in these games have sensible solutions, as opposed to the obtuse King's Quest puzzles?
I've never really been a video game person, but I played Amnesia with one of my friends today for the first time. We played it in a dark room. I mostly panicked when the character went around corners and opened doors, and screamed a lot.
I know, but the I Spy games themselves are the only I Spy type games I've played and enjoyed.
Yeah, you really need to be playing it to get the full effect. I believe there's a demo on Steam so you can give it a go without forking over any money.
I have to get a new controller for my 360. The button got stuck on my current one after it, um, fell, and hit the TV stand.
That's right, Fell . . . at a diagonal angle . . . at high speeds . . . with gravity sending it into my TV stand. Fell.
Browsing the Steam Summer Sale, I noticed that Might and Magic Heroes V (with all expansions) is 33% off. MMH VI is also 33% off. I played the demo for VI (which is not the tutorial, but farther into the campaign, which made me feel better about how bad I was doing), but there isn't a demo for V.I've never heard of this Might and Magic Heroes of which you speak. However, on the off chance that you're referring to Heroes of Might and Magic, I'll just say I've only played II and III so I can't be of much help to you. Dreadfully sorry about that.
So... How do they compare? Should I get V before VI? (I'm kind of inclined to, since V and the expansions is $20 cheaper than VI alone.)

Borderlands 2. Less than three months. I'll probably buy it a/two week/s after release. But dude, the pre-order bonuses! GOLD GUNS! ... ok, I just want an FPS I'll actually enjoy again. But still.
Just bought the Thief Collection for less than 7 bucks.
All three games.

Gah, I know... burnt 3 times this year. Just hoping I don't get burnt by gearbox, because that would destroy my faith in gaming. I'll never for the life of me understand why Obsidian and LucasArts didn't just finish putting together the cut content and releasing it as an expansion pack. It would've been a guaranteed money-spinner, considering how many people liked the game in its current, broken state.

I'm sure more people would've given a fuck a few years ago.
That’s the project you mentioned earlier — M4-78EP?
Indeed, M4-78EP, which is going to add M4-78, the Droids’ Planet that was cut from the game, back. Reason it’s not part of TSLRCM is fact that there aren’t many dialogs left, so we have to create lot of content ourselves, which doesn’t really fit under “restoration” category. Of course, it’s going to be fully compatible with TSLRCM 1.8.
So you’ll have to write your own dialog for M4-78EP? Do you guys record voice acting where it’s missing?
Yes to both; most of M4-78 is written by now (most of it is working, in fact, but we’re still doing side quests). We record new voice overs for our dialogs, too. Finding good voice actors isn’t an easy job, but we’re doing our best to ensure voice acting is as quality as in the rest of a game.
One thing I’d like to add here, so it doesn’t seem like M4-78EP is going to be 100% new content – we use models that were left in game files, and some main plot points are based on what we were able to recover from game dialog files. Also, living Master Vash is restored (she was originally supposed to be on droid’s planet, not Korriban), along with her dialog, which is fully recorded, though unavailable in game, even with TSLRCM.
Did the team do the voice acting? Did you have auditions?
We’re doing auditions for the most part; there are some exceptions (Sith Holocron, who was with the project from the beginning, is voicing planet’s main AI, and it was decided that way loooong ago, and sometime someone is suggested to me for a role). There are also voice acting forums all over the internet, so we’re using them too – then I post a thread with a list of characters along with some audition lines. If someone sends audition I like, he gets a role (obviously).
You're downloading it right now, aren't you?Me? No. I don't much care for the prospect of shitting myself in fright.

We were in toys R Us recently and I decided to try out their 3DS which was on display. After about 5 minutes of it, I decided I no longer want one, as that screen just hurts my eyes. Maybe it works better with different games (This one had Mario Tennis on it), but I didn't enjoy it at all.
That 3D slider is probably the one of the smartest things Nintendo could've done with the 3DS.
I like the 3D myself, but it does put a strain on my eyes, and it's as simple as turning it all the way down to fix that.
The gimmick isn't enforced, which, even though I consider Nintendo's gimmicks to be enjoyable, is unusual for Nintendo.
Well, I just gave myself a raging nostalgia boner on Youtube by listening to the radio stations from GTAIII. My god were good times had with that game, so many good times.

Even though I picked up GTA3 long after its prime time, one day I actually just sat down and listened to that one talk show. Just parked my car somewhere, turned the radio to that station, and just listened.
That was awesome.
Also, been derping around with the latest version of Technic Minecraft. I have to say, I think I'm gonna enjoy the electric engines. Steam engines are cool, but require coal. Combustion engines will blow the fuck up unless you keep em fed with water, which is just more fucking overhead. Electric? I got one that runs as fast as steam, and I'm running it off two low-voltage solar arrays being fed thru a MFE (after goin thru a step-down LV transformer, of course).
I got a condenser in two days. Three days, and I've got a small solar stack going, a macerator, an extractor, a MFE, step-down transformer, and about two stacks of glass fibre cable. I only -ever- use glass fibre cable, too...yes, its much more expensive than your standard fare, but it requires no insulation, has very little distance-based power loss (-1EU/t per 40 blocks), can handle power straight from a fucking nuclear reactor, and is totally safe to stand on. Well, well worth the cost, if ya ask me.
I've run IC2 several times in the past and always wanted to step up to the Technic Pack. The extra stuff it adds on top of the already completely awesome IC2 stuff just sounds incredible.I find I never need a nuclear reactor. Solar does the job just fine, especially high voltage solar arrays. It gives you assloads of power with no need to keep it supplied with uranium.
That said, glass fiber cable is so outrageously expensive that I pretty much only use it to run from my nuclear reactor to an MFSU, and then from there wire things with gold or copper wire (or iron cabling for the high-end stuff). That said, I've always dreamed of building this remote nuclear complex with huge power transmission infrastructure spreading around the map. Usually I just build a massively shielded sub-basement to house the reactor.

Let's take a vote, how many cities in Skyrim will have a 'burn him to the ground on sight' bounty for Ironbite's character by the end of the week?

Aaaand MapleStory's available on Steam.

Ugh.
See they'll have to know I stole from them and how they gonna do that if they have no eyes?
Ironbite-and are on fire?
It's almost Halloween (We start celebrating in September. Gives us more time.), so I'm breaking out the horror stories, horror movies, and horror games (including using Mythic for some solo RPG's). I already have Dead Space 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. I'm thinking of rebuying Bioshock, but has anyone played the second game, and is it any good?Penumbra (all three of them). It's on PC, but it's old enough that even my shitty laptop can run them so you'll do fine. It's also by Frictional, a developer who really knows their shit when it comes to survival horror. All in all, you can't go wrong.
Does anyone have any other reccommendations (Ps2 or 360. My comp won't run a lot of the games)? I'm not in favor of games where you spend more time worrying about the control then running from or killing monsters (I really wanted to enjoy Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Fatal Frame, but that issue turned me away). I'm all for jump scares, creepy atmospheres, etc. though.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
That's not on PS2 or 360, though.
Thanks, I'll look it up. My computer freezes a lot now, but if it's cheap, I'll give the game a try.All three of them are $20 on Steam.
PC gamers who enjoy a good challenge should be advised, Dark Souls releases on Steam 10 days from now.
Welp...the people asked for it so Valve gave it to them. Ladies and Gentlemen....I give you...

Ironbite-yep...co-op.
It would seem that a 75% off Portal 2 voucher has just appeared in my Steam inventory. I can't use it, seeing as I already have Portal 2, so if any of you lot want it then let me know. The exact same thing happened to me. It's free to anyone who wants it. Just give me your Steam name since I don't think I've added many of you on Steam yet.
I have Skyrim. And I found out that killing a chicken pisses people off.
Ironbite-not sure why though.
I have Skyrim. And I found out that killing a chicken pisses people off.Gee, can't imagine why people would be a little miffed at you killing their livestock. It's a complete fucking mystery.

I wonder if it fixed the horrid translation at least.Hope you enjoy MIDI music.

I'm always stunned how many people walk into the first town and immediately attempt to kill a chicken, and then wonder why the town is pissed at them.I have Skyrim. And I found out that killing a chicken pisses people off.

I'm pretty sure that chickens are marked in the game's code as "pets", so killing them will incur the same reaction from their owners that killing a family member would.
Seriously. I don't get it. Why does everyone but me get the uncontrollable urge to slaughter that same chicken? I've walked by hundreds of chickens in the game and never paid them any more than a passing glance.Being small and relatively quick they do make good target practice while you're getting used to how the bows work(plus kill cam on a chicken is funny as hell), but beyond that I've got nothing.
Also, I'm not sure why everyone refers to Riverwood as simply "the first town". The town has a name, you know.I've seen it happen when people started wandering in other directions, found a chicken, killed it anyway. Some folks take a perverse pride in doing as little of the main story as possible.
I always wonder why they kill that chicken in the first place.

WHY CAN'T I KILL GIANTS IN FUCKING SKYRIM!?
I remember someone gave me a key in the first big town that doesn't get fucked by a dragon. Not sure if it's for a house or what.Give it a while and some side quests, I've managed 3k in the normal course of events up until you get the chance to buy it. A couple side runs and instant house.
Ironbite-also the house in Whiterun costs 5000....argness.

Its the key to the house of the Stormcloak dude's sister's house.
Ironbite-which I can't really find and am not gonna worry bout.
Since we yammering on about skyrim.
Any suggestions on improving armor skills? I have this habit of killing things in one hit, or dying. I'd like to avoid that.
That said, enhanced dwarven crossbow shooting exploding fire bolts is a blast. Literally. Don't use it close to the target.

I'm not sure, actually. So far, the game hasn't really done anything that made me go "OH MAN! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MMO TO BE RELEASED! :D"
It's done some things that are interesting, and I like some of the races, but I'm having trouble finding that urge to play.
I wonder if it has anything to do with me trying out the 24 hour free trial of the original Guild Wars and absolutely hating it...

I pre-ordered and participated in all the beta events. GW2 is super different from the first game.

Well folks, it's the end of an era.
Nintendo Power Magazine is finally coming to an end.

Their maps and cheats were the shit back before we had internet in the house.
The mechwarrior online founders packs finally have a drop dead date of september 6th. I'm thinking of dropping 60 for a hunchback o'doom myself.Buy me a Fafnir, I'll settle for an Atlas. :p

Yeah, I can see that.
So this is on steam now. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/208580/)
Everything I've heard about it has been that it isn't worth it in it's original state.

Luckily, you don't have to play it in it's original state.
Ha, I learned from the NoX and TTLG forums that gaming forums are generally to be avoided unless visiting is absolutely necessary.
Also, I haven't had that many experiences like that in DDO...which is likely the reason why its so damned grating.
Dear friends- This October, I will be getting all of my remaining wisdom teeth removed at once. After the procedure, I must spend seven days sitting in bed and taking the pain medication they prescribe. This will put me in a state of mind professionally known as "tripping balls". Therefore, I want your input- what bizarre, psychedelic, and generally brain-breaking video games should I play during my recovery? Whatever you suggest, I'll film my playthroughs so we can share in the best medicine of all- schadenfreude.Naaaa nanana nana nana, Katamari Damacy...

-Conker's Bad Fur Day
-Binding of Isaac
-Postal 2
-Psychonauts
-Penumbra: Overture
-Amnesia: The Dark Descent
-The Ship
-Saints Row 2
-Fahrenheit (not Indigo Prophecy, the US localisation is censored)
Have fun (and good luck successfully recording, editing, rendering and uploading your playthroughs while tripping balls, boy are you going to need it).
A buddy of mine will be helping with the recording and the like- I'll just be playing the games.I've already got Amnesia and Psychonauts ready, and I'll try to find Fahrenheit. I hadn't thought of Conker, and my friend already owns it so I won't have to buy/rent it.You can find Fahrenheit here (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/fahrenheit_indigo_prophecy) if you do decide to get it. It's cheap, modded to work on Windows 7 and it's the uncensored version. That said, I'd highly recommend Postal 2. You can actually whip it out in public and urinate all over people if you so desire. It's truly a beautiful game.

Even if you do the 4 main endings, you still haven't done all the endings because each one has about a hundred different sub-variations
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_endings
The NCR ending was only depressing for you because you did various things during the course of the game that made it so. If you play your cards right, even the Legion ending turns out not-completely-horrible.
Final Fantasy XI: Been wanting to play this one for a long time, but just haven't had the time to put into it. It's extremely long with something along the line of over 5 expansions and a new one coming out next year, however I'm going to start it sometime soon. Going to be a dragoon or dark knight.
As far as "dragoon" or "dark night" goes, it's not that simple... you're going to have to earn those classes. The classes you start off with are Warrior, Monk, Thief, Black Mage, White Mage, and Red Mage.
The Secret World: Been looking into this one, seems funs, combat is bit wonky but I like the idea and atmosphere. Plan on buying it thursday off of steam. Only thing I'm trying to figure out is either being the Illuminati or Dragon.
The Old Republic: Plan on picking up the trialthrough and playing until level 15, game is going F2P in a month or two so I might as well wait and not buy the game to finish it. Want to see what the stories are like for the classes, heard they are fantastic. Probably going to be a Sith Warrior.
Guild Wars: The sequel is coming out so I figured I play the original alongside it. Wonder how different they are.
Rift's Expansion The Storm Legion: Rift still tops my list for MMOs and I look forward to this expansion.

They've actually made the grind not so much a grind anymore, probably because the declining playerbase makes it harder for players to find other players to make teams with. Also, you can party with max-level party members now and earn experience.

Similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, you are able to change your main job (and later, when you earn it, your secondary job) at certain points - namely, your house or guest house.
I just have to say, though, Dragoon is an epic class, but Dark Knight's quest makes it seem very interesting.
Also, do be sure to check out Dancer. That's a fun class from what I understand, and it works well with other classes, even as a secondary I think.
Speaking of Guild Wars 2, apparently people are being banned for bad language, some people claiming they hadn't said anything bad at all and wanting to know why they were banned. Then a support team member from Arenanet starts showing why these people are banned (http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/yxx3m/suspensions_for_offensive_names_and_inappropriate/) and some of them are hillarious. From the things they say or from names like 'ballsacklarry'.
Example:
It just shows that people are butthurt for their actions and try to make a game look bad.
The name's fine. The chat? No so much: Bixx: Get out of here you gag faggot.
Name: OK Chat: Not ok -- "i AM A DOG YOU NIGGER"
Name: OK Chat -- not ok: "im gonna shove my cock up your asshole"
Name: OK Chat: Not ok -- "lets fuck these niggers ."
While I am glad that there's going to be some official support for adoption and these other things, it just feels like they took a bunch of mods, potentially improved upon them, and then packed them as a DLC.If you ask me, it's slightly better than the Minecraft model. That is, take a bunch of mods, make them significantly worse and release them as updates.
I find it silly that they're judging a game to suck before they've even seen screenshots, let alone gameplay.
I'm not saying it won't suck, because I have no idea what it's going to involve yet.

Seems to me that the majority of the complaining about Elder Scrolls Online is either conjecture unsupported by any actual, ya know...facts, or the classic standby, "they changed it, therefore it sucks."When was the last time the elder scrolls community was happy with something? They seriously have the ability to stare down the depths of the gift horse's mouth and then complain about the view.
I'd also suggest anything from the Shin Megami Tensei or Persona series. Disgaea's a good, toonier option, too.

Don't have a stick up your ass and it has some promise. I'm curious how it works myself because it does seem like a universe where an MMO actually could work.
Shooting anything in anything other then first person is damn hard in Skyrim. I mean you can do it but I like my first person sneak attack with a bow to the back of the head.
Ironbite-did that to one mage and yeah...
or the Elder Scrolls fandom frothing at the mouth when Bethesda decided to ditch the abso-fucking-lutely abysmal combat system in Morrowind for one that made fucking sense in every other game since then.
Seriously, they need to take a step back, take their lips off the crack pipe, and fuckin chill. Nothin wrong with constructive criticism, but going all barbarian rage over every little change...I'm surprised we haven't had reports of any of them dying of self-inflicted heart attacks.
Also, I played Guild Wars 2 for a few hours today. OH MY GOD, THE SWEETNESS. That is all.

The official Release Date for Torchlight II is Thursday, September 20th, 2012.
3 weeks away!
We'll announce it 'more' officially and bigger tomorrow.
You know first!
Thank all of you for being an awesome and patient community
Actually, Zacky, my laptop can run it better than it does DDO. Granted, it pretty much runs at bare bones graphics settings, which it automatically detects and sets for you (that's how you do convenience RIGHT), but it works right out of the box, as promised, and it works well.
For the record, here's the basic get-up I'm workin with:
* AMD E-350 Processor (2x core) 1.6 GHz
* 4 GB of RAM
* Windows 7 (64-bit OEM)
* AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics
I got it for...around 400 bones. I've had Minecraft maps that run slower than Guild Wars 2.

I love Fallout and the Elder Scrolls. I don't mind or complain about the changes.I love Fallout and Elder Scrolls as well. I really love Oblivion and Skyrim. Morrowind is great as well though I couldn't get into it as much as I could with those two. My characters are ALWAYS Argonians. I find their reptilian appearance really cool.
I feel Fallout has done nothing but improve.
I think Elder Scrolls should steal from Fallout by adding more possible outcomes/paths for the game. And I'd like spears separating bracers and tops and bottoms and to add back some of the magic they took away, again as it was in Morrowind but those are very minor things.
I'd also like more racial, gender importance, even if it's just once quest/faction you could only do/join if you meet the requirement. That and cleaning up NPC scripts a little on races, when you play as none Nords in Skyrim there are people who you can ask about your own race.
And add brothels or prostitutes to inns/taverns that give the married well rested bonus for a price.
Both series are awesome though. And I have high hopes for future games and I do not feel I'll be let down.
I feel most problems are to avoid glitches or because the technology isn't there yet to get it to the standard they want.
And add brothels or prostitutes to inns/taverns that give the married well rested bonus for a price.
It exists in the Fallout world but even then, it's very tame compared to what it would be.
And while I'm not saying it should reflect how it would be in real life or have a lot of detail included in it, I'm fine with the screen going black for X# of game hours, but it is something I feel should be included.
I only now remember about this one and find out that it's shutting down (http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/news/news_archive/thank_you.php).
A shame too, out of the three games, this one seemed like it had it's shit together best.

Just...why? What's wrong with NCSoft? First, they kill off Tabula Rasa right as it was hitting its stride (and, from what I hear, screwing Lord British out of a dickload of money), now they kill off City of Heroes? I mean, I've never played it...subscription-based games are something of a gaming turn-off, but that always seemed like one of their biggest money-makers, aside from perhaps Guild Wars.

That or you really really REALLY love foreplay.
CoH went free to play a while back, the limits aren't anything to horrible, but it is a pretty old game at this point and has newer competition with licenses people want to play with attached to them. I still think it was the best of the lot, but I played it pretty much to death. Though I may try running with the mastermind concept and make a game out of it if they're going down completely.I only now remember about this one and find out that it's shutting down (http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/news/news_archive/thank_you.php).

Ya know, if they kill games like this, they should put the server software and shit up for grabs. I mean, it won't be making any money for them, anyway, and people would've likely bought it just to make their own private servers and keep the game alive, like they've done with Ultima Online. There's a lot involved in that software, and ensuring someone else doesn't make money off of it is typically a pretty big priority, as well as maintaining any intellectual property rights tied up in it. Simply put, it's not bloody likely that people are going to let go of their software just because some people want it. It could actually cost them a great deal in the long run.
I'd suggest DDO, its fairly stable, free-to-play, and by and large, the player base isn't a raving bunch of lunatics, which is always a plus.

Hell, the forums are actually split instead of being pure unadulterated hatewanking.
Still nearly intolerable, but it's improved. Until the next major patch.
The next platform to be graced with Half-Minute Hero's unique brand of ultra-fast world saving will be the PC later this year on September 27 for $9.99.

Running a 64bit operating system, less than 4GB of RAM, your are litterly missing half of the advantages of 64bit.
Optifine is your friend, your sanity will depend upon it. Good luck using a texture pack grater than 16x16.

* 4 GB of RAM
* Windows 7 (64-bit OEM)
* AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics
I got it for...around 400 bones. I've had Minecraft maps that run slower than Guild Wars 2.
Holy fuck, seriously? I thought there was no way my laptop could handle it, as jumpy as it can be with rendering distances in Minecraft above Normal. I've got less RAM but 2.3 GHz, so maybe there's hope.
Running a 64bit operating system, less than 4GB of RAM, your are litterly missing half of the advantages of 64bit.
Optifine is your friend, your sanity will depend upon it. Good luck using a texture pack grater than 16x16.
Actually, Zacky, my laptop can run it better than it does DDO. Granted, it pretty much runs at bare bones graphics settings, which it automatically detects and sets for you (that's how you do convenience RIGHT), but it works right out of the box, as promised, and it works well.

I am in literal shock and disbelief at just how poorly designed that laptop is. I mean it is at Alienware level bad. It’s not like they can claim ignorance, they specifically had an OEM license with Microsoft. Microsoft had to give them the specifications for running and bust practice guidelines for compatibility.
This is not Sleepy’s fault either, as it is my opinion that Sleepy was burned by whoever made and sold that laptop.
Apparently Old Rebuplic is going to become free to play! I am downloading the trial version to get an early look at the game.Let me know how it is. I've been tempted to try it since it's going free, but I have the same apprehensions you do. Plus they can be a real time suck.
Seriously though, I expect to see the same problems that all MMORPG's have. Namely, you have to play with other people. People who behave like the average online player...
Still, I am going to try it.
Wait, I'm dumb, what's wrong with Alienware? Are you talking about laptops only?

I think it's that Alienware claims to make gaming-quality computers, but they take a lot of shortcuts and use less powerful components, then jack up the price heavily for the brand name.
Well, it's too late for me to do that now. By about a few months.

I am baffled. Not every laptop is made to exploit the power of a given operating system and/or hardware configuration. Many, if not most of them, are made for your everyday consumer, and your everyday consumer isn't going to need too much in the way of hardware horsepower, including RAM.
Unless you get an expensive fucking laptop, chances are, you're not getting a whole hell of a lot of horsepower. Case in point, I spent ~$400 on mine. Yeah, it was cheap, but it works, plays games relatively well, and does what I need it to do. I don't need Alienware-level horsepower, I'm not going to be playing Skyrim or Crysis on my laptop, and I never expected as much when I got it.
So, don't even blame the manufacturer, they make the cheaper laptops for the people who generally buy them, people who don't need much horsepower. If you want that, you get a desktop.
I getting really tired of the concept of hype. Yes, it's a good thing to get your game out there, showing the positives etc. But at the same time, it launches and basically it stabs you in the back.

I'm currently about two thirds of the way through Banjo-Tooie, and I'm feeling rather forlorn that I've done everything there is to do in Witchyworld. The music in that level is freaking fantastic.

A certain boss almost ruined that level for me.

I've been playing Tooie as well, and the difference in the size of the worlds compared to the first one is insane. Since I never played this as a kid and have zero familiarity, it's kinda hard to navigate and figure out where the hell I am when I don't have the greatest view with the camera (although it is improved). When it comes to navigation, particularly in levels where everything looks more or less the same (looking at you, Grunty Industries), all I can say is warp pads are very much your friend. They and other means of fast travel make life a hell of a lot easier.
My computer is having trouble handling Minecraft of all things. What's weird is that it handles more graphics- processing power-intensive games quite well. Maybe it's just loading a ton of chunks all at once, or maybe it's because I'm in a jungle temple right now, and therefore there are a lot of surrounding trees and plenty of redstone.
Actually, come to think of it, my old computer (which I replaced with my Alienware one because the former became unbearably slow) could run Minecraft better than my Alienware PC is.
I wonder if it's possible to sue Dell for false advertising since they directed me to the Alienware site in the first place.
EDIT: Minecraft is working fine in the browser, oddly enough.
Well, okay, but... why is it running better on the browser than via the launcher?
Pre-ordered Borderlands 2. Oh well, better be worth $70.Check gearbox's youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/gearboxsoftware?feature=g-all-u
A few questions about DDO...
I started a Ranger (with 1 level of Rogue), eventually going Deepwood Sniper. I'm enjoying it enough to be considering actually buying some Turbine Points and Adventure Packs. My favorite class (and the class I wanted to play when DDO came out in 2006) is Monk, so that is almost certainly a to-buy. I'm also considering the Menace of the Underdark Standard Edition (which comes with more stuff, including the Druid class). My other option is buy just the Druid class.
Given that I play mostly solo (and probably will continue that way, unless I get so into it I decide to join a guild), would it be worth it to buy the Adventure Pack, or just get the classes? Also, how do I go about earning Renown with House Cannith to unlock Artificer?
Deepwood Sniper is kind of a trap at the moment. You'd be better off going Arcane Archer until Turbine gets around to the Enhancement Overhaul.
I'm just saying, at the moment, Arcane Archer is unfortunately superior in every way for what you want to do :-/
Rangers are partially a casting class and so naturally qualify for Arcane Archer (though they do need to pick up a Mental Toughness feat at level 5 to qualify)
Human is a perfectly good race for a ranged ranger.
The reason Deepwood Sniper is terrible is, well... there's only one rank of it, the active ability it is pretty terrible even when it does work, and the passive abilities of the prestige enhancement are not even worth the AP. You'd literally be better off not taking any prestige enhancement than taking Deepwood Sniper.
So in Skyrim I threw in with the Stormcloaks and....I don't think I like Ulfric. I want to murder him.I chose the Stormcloaks as well. Why should they be told by the Imperials how they live?
Ya know, in Skyrim, you're basically Jesus. You really should be able to form your own faction and kick everyone's ass, especially the Thalmoor. Then again, I have an emphatic hatred for all things Altmer.I just whoop Ulric's, the thalmor and pretty much everything else's ass while wearing a amulet of Talos. I figure it all balances out. Once genocide is complete there's no further reason to ban his worship.

As part of my current Banjo-Kazooie binge, I've decided finally try and beat Nuts and Bolts. I have to say, I've forgotten how absolutely horrible the physics are in that game. Everything just feels so weightless and the only vehicles that don't handle like ass are boats. I really do like the idea of an adventure game based around building vehicles, it's just the execution is a little sub-par. I do hope that mechanic is used in a future game and done right.
Actually, there seem to be plenty of videos of people mastering the mechanics system to make vehicles do things that the game makers couldn't even predict. You don't need to even come close to mastering the mechanics to break the game. You can build any sort of plane, knock one of the wings off and it'll fly perfectly. You can also slap together the heaviest possibly build you can possibly come up with within the maximum dimensions the game will allow, use a single small engine to drive a small propeller pointed either up or down and you'll have a perfectly functional (if a little hard to handle) helicopter. Then of course there's the fact that you can easily reach areas of the overworld that you're theoretically not supposed to reach until later in the game. It's a little tedious, but you can acquire parts that completely break some of the earlier challenges.
Though that might just be MORE evidence of how broken it is.
I was wondering about Nuts & Bolts, but reading about it, I think I'd be disappointed if I were to play. I can appreciate them trying to be creative by adding new elements to the game, like the vehicle construction, but that's not really my thing.Don't get me wrong, it's still a genuinely fun game in its own right, as flawed as it is. If you can find it cheap like I did, it should be worth the price. Just ignore the Banjo-Kazooie aspect or at the very least treat it as a spin-off and you should have a good enough time with it.
Is there any particular game to start with first with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.Oblivion and Skyrim have fast travel, Morrowind does not. Oblivion has a GOTY edition that's generally cheap as hell during steam sales. If you're not quite desperate to play I'd say pick up Oblivion next steam sale, unless you like dragons and the kicking of dragon ass, in which case skyrim is worth it. Skyrim's combat's a bit more fun, but you don't get to bunny hop across the country side for shits, giggles and profit like oblivion.
There's fast travel in Morrowind, sorta. You can take the Silt Striders to certain cities and there's the mark and recall spells. Is there any particular game to start with first with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.Oblivion and Skyrim have fast travel, Morrowind does not. Not to mention the Mage's Guild has portals to other Mage's Guild centers.
Though I will admit, the fast travel of Oblivion/Skyrim is a HUGE convenience. I just think Oblivion should've gone with what Skyrim did and not give you every major city automatically.
I kinda wish the radar system in Skyrim was a bit mroe like Fallout. I understand why it's not but damn, really wish I knew where my god damn companion was without having to wait an hour.
Ironbite-just a mark for where my ally is.
I'm thinking of getting Pokemon Black 2 when it comes out, depending on how different it is from the original. I want to take a cute little Audino (or however it's spelled) and turn it into a vicious red-eyed monster, just like I did with Cuddles the Clefable in SS.
I never played BW so it's all new to me anyway.
I'll be picking it up on the 20th, when it comes out here. When does it come out in the States?Comes out on the 18th in the states, though that is my fiancee's birthday so I'll most likely either be doing something else or playing it so she can watch.
So, anyone else getting borderlands 2? I'd love to actually play this one with people.
FTL - Faster Than Light is now out on GOG, and I'm now the proud owner of a copy. I'm now a very happy panda. For the new owners of this, I've got one question. Can you give orders while paused?
You can. I tell you, without this option, the game would be absolute arse. A bit late to the party, but I have to say, the whole thing with Guild Wars 2 was a bit hilarious.
Before release, during testing:
"Oh man, this game is fun!"
"Yeah, it's definitely better than <insert MMO here>"
"So much going for it. I can't wait until it's actually released!"
After release
"HOLY FUCK THIS GAME SUCKS!"
"YEAH, <insert same MMO here> WAS SO MUCH BETTER!"
"BAWWW MORE SHITTY GAMES NO ONE EVER RELEASES ANYTHING GOOD ANYMORE BAWWWW!"
Fickle gamers... you amuse me :3
I hate my luck.
I bought the Monk class for DDO 2 days ago. Today, it went on sale for 20% off.
Speaking of DDO, am I right in thinking there's only 1 Enhancement for Artificer (Battle Engineer) and none for Druid? I read ddowiki.com for info, but the site does not list anything else, and when I went looking last night, I couldn't find any.
I had wondering if that would happen. When SWTOR first came out, the forums were full of "this game sucks! I can't wait for TSW and GW2." In the back of my mind, I kept thinking "dreams are usually better than reality..."
DON'T ASK ME TO PERFORM ANY SELF CONTROL, IT SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEVELOPER TO MAKE THE GAME NINTENDO HARD FOR US METAGAMERS WHO TAKE ABSOLUTELY EVERY ADVANTAGE OF THE SYSTEM!
Obsidian Entertainment and our legendary game designers Chris Avellone, Tim Cain, and Josh Sawyer are excited to bring you a new role-playing game for the PC. Project Eternity (working title) pays homage to the great Infinity Engine games of years past: Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment.
Project Eternity aims to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPGs that we enjoyed making - and playing. At Obsidian, we have the people responsible for many of those classic games and we want to bring those games back… and that’s why we’re here - we need your help to make it a reality!
I haven't played SWTOR or TSW, but I can say that GW2 at least looks like it took 7 some-odd years to make.

Waitwaitwait...weren't those all using various D&D rulesets? ...Are they implying we could have a good D&D-based single-player RPG coming soon?
That was the sound of my penis exploding from the sheer ecstasy that thought caused.
New IP doesn't mean they won't be using D&D rules. There's a difference between using a D&D setting, and the D&D ruleset.

I need to find where I read it, but I'm pretty sure they're not using D&D rules because they've said they're horrendously unbalanced.
Hmm, Borderlands 2 requires Steam activation. This does not bode well, but it seems good so far.Has some nice integration features from what I'm seeing. Lets you invite people right off your steam list.

The game is pretty bloody good, but the UI isn't as good as the first game, though maybe it's just because I'm used to it.I'm finding the separate menus a bit jarring as well, but should I figure out the hot keys again(been ages since i played an FPS like this) it should be manageable.
By the way, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is currently 60% on GOG.com, bringing it down to $7.99. If you don't have it already and you like management sims, then definitely pick it up. It's most definitely the best in its genre by a huge margin.
I love RCT 3, though for some reason, people think my coasters are a little too extreme to watch. Just because one has an 800 foot drop whilte another has over 40 inversions . . .I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. My only major complaints so far is that micro-managing your employees is a pain in the ass and the interface is a lot more cryptic than its predecessors, but other than that, it's a seriously awesome game.
I also love giving drinks away for free but charging $6 for the bathroom.

I'm several years behind the times and I just started playing Fallout New Vegas. I kinda like paying $20some to have the bugs gone and all the DLC. Any suggestions on missions that are must dos and those that suck and are worth skipping?

Don't do anything for the Legion. They're douche bags. Hell everyone but you is a douche and doesn't deserve any of your time. And unlike Skyrim, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORK FOR ANYONE! You can go out and just take over New Vegas by yourself, it's great!
I made a female character who slept with, then killed Benny.
I only played the first DLC Dead Money, and found it to be Nintendo Hard (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FalloutNewVegas/TropesNToR)
How you help or don't help every character changes their ending, do a lot of side quests.
I think I'm starting to fall in love with RedPower, in Technic Minecraft. Unlike the BuildCraft pipes, if RedPower pipes can't send anything into a connected inventory, even if a pulse is sent to a filter to pull things out of a chest, it won't do it. If any excess does happen to pop up, its just sent back down the system, and right back into the chest from whence it came.
No need for obsidian pipes, BuildCraft engines, or any complex retrieval systems, since the filters work off simple redstone pulses, which you can do easily with a timer and some red alloy wire. No muss, no fuss...lovely, and efficient. Just how I like my machines.
[ETA]
My god, I think I've created not one, but two monsters. My first monster? A behemothic BuildCraft energy generator that works off 64 redstone and 64 steam engines, the latter of which are fueled by an endless supply of charcoal (4x less EMC than regular coal) distributed by a RedPower pneumatic tube system.
(http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu273/RH-00/th_BuildCraft-Behemoth-Generator.png) (http://s655.photobucket.com/albums/uu273/RH-00/?action=view¤t=BuildCraft-Behemoth-Generator.png)
My second monster? You know how, with my behemoth BuildCraft generator, I effectively have a massive, endless supply of BuildCraft energy? I've done the same with IndustrialCraft, using a little trick I learned by reading the Technic wiki comments that allows me to create endless amounts of lava. FOR FREE. (Minus parts and labor, of course)
(http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu273/RH-00/th_Free-Lava-Generator.png) (http://s655.photobucket.com/albums/uu273/RH-00/?action=view¤t=Free-Lava-Generator.png)
Oh, and how much can this generate? Well, it may not look like much, but my tanks were about...15% full before I made two of these wee buggers. A few Minecraft days later, I now have THIS.
(http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu273/RH-00/th_SO-MUCH-LAVA.png) (http://s655.photobucket.com/albums/uu273/RH-00/?action=view¤t=SO-MUCH-LAVA.png)
Yeah. I...actually forget exactly how high those towers of tanks are, but there's a dozen per row. My guess? They're about 12 blocks high, so that's...12x4x12 = 576 tanks. With each storing 16 cubic meters of lava, that brings me to a maximum of 9,276 cubic meters of lava, which I'm nearly at.
Sooo...yeah. Effective, efficient, and endless. I dunno bout you guys, but I'm pretty damn proud of myself, right now.
Borderlands 2 is a bit harder than number 1, the AI is smarter and guns and vehicles are harder to use. It does make for a different, and arguably better, experience.I've had some pretty heavy skews in difficulty on different characters. I was getting trashed on one, started another(without even getting to skill points yet) had a much easier time. That said, now that I'm familiar with the game I'm back to the original character and Iridium is falling out of the fucking sky on me compared to any other characters.

But I love the fact the enemies react to bullets near them. Makes it a bitch to kill them, but great for herding them into grenades. I'm thinking I need some more grenades with long fuses to make it more fun.
Eh, I don't really like playing multiplayer. I like wasting time and looking around for loot or other interesting random stuff, while in my experience most people would rather just rush through the game.
So I just got Faster Than Light and I love it but it is hard as hell. You may want to play on easy for a while, just so you can unlock some more ships. The game gets a little dull when you only have the Kestral and the Engi Cruiser available.
I officially have the best girlfriend in the world. Guess what she got me for my birthday? Go on, guess!(click to show/hide)

I've decided to have another crack at finally finishing Dragon Age: Origins. Maybe putting it on nightmare difficulty was a bad idea, seeing as I'm dying quite a bit trying to slog through the Kokari Wilds, but I do like a challenge. That damn game kicked my ass on normal until I traded a console version in for a PC version.
I figure things'll become a lot easier once Alistair learns taunt. It'll make life a hell of a lot easier for my archery-focused PC.
I need a better computer with a better processor before I can think of tackling Dragon Age Origins again.
Seriously, what kinda game has its battle system set up so that the damage lags up to 15 seconds behind the action?

A poorly-designed one?
I'd love nothing more than to play that game on PC, as the 360 controls are a little less than ideal. However, my laptop struggles to handle even Pentium-era graphics. I can only play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 in 800x600 and with all but a few texture details turned right down if I want it to run smoothly.I've decided to have another crack at finally finishing Dragon Age: Origins. Starting to think everything in Skyrim has a suicide wish.
Ironbite-everything that attacks me...dies.
Shadowmere is just following me along whenever I quick travel anywhere. And then I leave him where he's at.
Ironbite-CAUSE WHO THE FUCK USES HORSES WITHOUT DAWNGUARD ANYWAYS?
Again I ask, who uses horses anyways? I haven't seen anything that needed me to be on a horse. They can't run faster, jump higher or further. In fact, using a horse is almost an insult to me.
Ironbite-that and it's 1000 septims per horse...fuck me I ain't made of money.

My horses have armor. And I didn't have to shell out real money for that "privilege" :D
But really, they could stand to be faster. They do have the advantage of being able to say "Fuck physics" and ride straight up a mountainside though.

Ironbite-that and it's 1000 septims per horse...fuck me I ain't made of money.
My horses have armor. And I didn't have to shell out real money for that "privilege" :D

Can't you fast travel on a horse, even if you are encumbered?

Is it any good?

I wanna get myself a pokerman game again. I have an emulator for Ruby but it's just not the same as getting to play on a handheld.
There have been some pretty mediocre (http://www.gamespot.com/pokemon-white-version-2/reviews/pokemon-white-version-2-review-6397356/) reviews for it though.
I skipped right to Black 2. At the moment, my Lucario and whatever the water starter is are laying waste to everything in their paths.

I honestly don't pay much heed to reviews, or even hearsay.
Played some good games and been sorely disappointed, played some bad games and had a blast.
As it turns out, I have different taste from a lot of people.

Add to that by using Mystery Gift from the main menu.
Genesect will really wreck your opponents' shit
I haven't played one since Ruby, so...yeah I need some time to get back into it. Only just recently started understanding how EVs and IVs and Natures and stuff works.I got Pokemon White 2 today.

If you're going to get a Pokemon game, I'd suggest finding a copy of Black or White first, and then later pick up Black 2 or White 2 if you feel so inclined. Aside from being direct story sequels, I think Black or White would offer something of a better experience to someone coming back into the game after an absence.
Also, Black and White both have horrible real time based mechanics in the game. Specifically, there are different seasons in-game and they change depending on the actual time of the year (or to put it bluntly, you have to regularly exit the game and fuck around with the DS's internal clock to access all of the content). If, like me, you find that sort of thing to be completely insufferable, you may want to go with Diamond/Pearl instead.I don't really mind, although I missed a bunch of beasties on my first playthrough of Silver because they only came out at certain times.
Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut on PS3 Q1 2013
Oh my god, Sleeping Dogs is amazing. I've literally been transfixed for three hours. That's what I was afriad of...
It's like the Batman: Arkhamverse combat system, the GTA open-world city, and Red Dead Redemption's writing all got mushed into one disc.
Ok. I was thinking of getting it for Halloween actually.
I just found a alpha game called Prison Architect which is basically a prison sim.

The tutorial to the game(video above) itself is probably the only game I've ever taken interest in simply from a tutorial:(click to show/hide)
I have friends who play LoL and DOTA2. Now they're bugging me to join.
Anyone here play either? I haven't really pursued looking at either of these.
Anyone here played Resident Evil 6 yet?
Did anyone else go from overflowing chests of gold to fucking broke when they installed hearth fire? I'm offing dragons just to have petty cash, and I haven't even added the two other wings to my house.
