it always strikes me how endlessly cruel someone would have to be to perpetrate something like this.

While being choked to death, George Floyd, saying "I can't breathe" (sound familiar?), was told by his killer that it "takes a heck of a lot of oxygen to talk".

I could see William Barr being involved, though, given that he pretty much said that if he was AG, he'd act essentially as Trump's personal lawyer/coverup man.

Epstein associated with a lot more people than just Donald Trump. I mean I hate the guy and sure he might have been involved in his child rape ring and he might not have been. But I honestly don't think Trump was involved in Epsteins Murder/Suicide.

On the other hand, the coroner who ruled Epstein's death a suicide is the same one who ruled Eric Garner's death a homicide, despite pretty intense political pressure to arrive at a different finding. I'm not saying that it's therefore an unimpeachable finding but it tilts hard in that direction.

There's something to the theory one of the people who stood to lose a lot via associating with his child rape ring persuaded him it would be better for him if he ended himself. I'm not saying its Donald Trump but... okay yeah I'm kinda saying it might've been Trump. Think about it, he definitely knows about his own insane base full of Q Boomers. He probably is scared shitless of what'd happen if those batshit fuckers ever turned on him.

Or Epstein could have just already been able to guess ahead of time he was a prime hit target and his death would lead a lot of speculation that could hit back at all the people he couldn't tattle on as people sift through "who killed Epstein" clues. We'll never know though because the fucker died before revealing anything new or groundbreaking.

Probably nearly identical except with more auto tune in his speeches. Keeping up with the Kardashians will move to the white house where important governmental private information will be leaked in a few episodes.

I didn't think a president-based reality show more terrible than what we currently have could possibly exist but you just described what that would be exactly in less than 35 words. Thanks, I hate it.

Implying any of the entrenched political class actually wanted the guy out as much as the American people generally do. There were a couple crimes of his they could have gotten him on but they also enabled plenty of the authoritarian shit. Pelosi, for example, aided Trump by extending warrant-less domestic surveillance when other better democrats (like Ellison) were introducing bills to try and stop it. I'm convinced that blowback of Pelosi's own involvement with helping Trump violate laws and people's rights being pointed out is the only reason a more comprehensive case wasn't put forward. We need a better speaker candidate that has all of the good ideas socially the democrats represent but who also has enough of a spine to do more than just symbolically standing up to Trump by calling him fat and like... actually stop allowing the persecution that arises from giving unlimited powers to the shadiest parts of the american intelligence apparatus

Just admit you want to call them "The Deep State", but you don't want people to think you're crazy as shit.

This reads like pure conspiracy-mongering. You have no proof about your assertions, any more than the average Trump Supporter rambling on about the Deep State. Pelosi's been incredibly competent in minimizing losses during the Trump years, so I'd be interested in hearing who you'd think might be a "better speaker of the house".

But then, I'm a damn dirty corporate democrat myself, so...I guess I'm just corrupt from a base level.

Keep putting your fingers in your ears and yelling fake news and projecting on levels only MAGApedes and IMAX had reached lol.

She only a couple months ago had to postpone the vote on renewing it when forced to by better congressional leaders
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/27/fisa-renewal-limbo-284025 (I originally got a hit for this story from the NY Post but replaced it with Politico because the Post is a godawful shitrag that deserves no clicks. I'm so glad I had adblock on when I ended up on that hell website)

And we see this again unfortunately with the PATRIOT extension in November last year that names several generally progressive people who capitulated unfortunately
https://www.salon.com/2019/11/26/progressives-in-congress-just-capitulated-on-the-patriot-act-its-time-to-push-back/

Then the lack of coverage for the freshly unemployed that as of yet hasn't been added afaik
https://prospect.org/blogs/tap/laid-off-workers-lost-health-coverage-coronavirus/

Not to mention Pelosi rolling over and voting for something literally nicknamed the "Blue Lives Matter" bill
https://theintercept.com/2018/05/19/blue-lives-matter-bill-police-brutality/
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2018/roll188.xml (link to the house voting sheet)
Important to note that more solid progressive leaders like Jayapal,Barbara Lee, and Maxine Waters all voted AGAINST the bill. Not to mention orgs like the NAACP, the ACLU, and Human Rights Watch suggesting to vote no.

Then theres stuff like FOSTA/SESTA which harmed sex workers which she's failed to lead on, while her challenger Shahid Buttar has been vocal about fixing the problems of, as had Elizabeth Warren, who was calling for investigations into those laws
https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2019/12/17/fosta-sesta-elizabeth-warren-international-day-end-violence-sex-workers-trans-rights/

It's not a conspiracy theory at all to state how much she fails in many regards as a leader. Any number of people would make good speakers: Barbara Lee, Maxine Waters, literally any of the Squad upon a couple more terms of experience. That's just off the top of my head, as I don't know literally every democrat in the HoR since there's several hundred last I checked.

I'm just a bit frustrated at all of this. To her credit she has staunchly opposed Trump on bombing Yemen and Iran warmongering, but I can't trust her to do the same should a democrat be in the presidency like how she just let Obama bomb Libya into smithereens and left it worse than it was beforehand. I just want somebody who is consistent in standing against abuse of authority rather than "eh maybe sometimes I'll do that if you really force me to" but being otherwise complicit.

i've got several additions tonight

2) the screencaps featured in this thread, from various TERFs who don't understand figurative language apparently

3) whatever this is, I'm pretty sure its a joke based on who posted it but it might just be a real insane thing OP isn't crediting but I still recommend viewing

"Ted Kaczinsky is best known as the "Unabomber" whose explosives killed three people. But to focus on his terrorism is to ignore his contributions to anti-modernism, such as his seminal text, "The Industrial Society and its Future."

Seriously though, what the fuck?

Because Americans are idiots who vote for the first name the recognize, rather than looking at what the parties DO and deciding to vote based on that.

It's a bad sign that a country can get more people involved in voting for American Idol than in the elections for their damned leaders...
