Not only did Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) say it, but he said it on the house floor.  No, he is not one of those people that thinks the President is not a Christian (he says it in the video), he just wants to do some birther-bating...Texas style.

Conservatives really need to get their empires straight, I could of sworn they were saying that Obama was creating the Galactic Empire last week, now it's the Ottoman Empire, make up your minds folks...

I'm actually impressed that Gohmert even knows what the Ottoman Empire is.

Okay, the assumption that he actually knows what it is might be a bit steep, but I'm still impressed that he's ever heard of something that isn't in the bible.

Historical fact: the Ottoman Empire was originally know as the Foot Stool Empire.  But the Foot Stoolians finally decided that the name was undignified.
