Reinforce the deterrent effect of the law a little, demonstrate fairness, ect.

Also, the father wouldn't have to deal with the emotional consequences of having killed someone. It was unintentional and the guy killed was a sick, horrible human being but even in these circumstances taking a life can be a traumatic experience.

It's not just this, though.  You consistently call for the most gruesome deaths and tortures out there, even far beyond the kinda stuff other people say to vent.

Even when that dreadful House Bill passed, I didn't openly go call for the deaths of Rick Perry, Ted Cruz, John Corwyn, (ugh, I have to share his surname, and it's also my first name) Louie Gohmert and various other people. I was pretty fucking upset, especially over this path of this ever-powerful and antagonizing line of politicians suppressing free-will of various people in the name of Jesus Christ (in fact, why are these people even allowed in politics?), but I didn't go so berserk that I let my feelings go that loose.

On the OP, I'd like to think that I would handle this the same way as the father did if someone hurt one of my daughters.  Not sure that I would have had the remorse, though.

Quoting both of you for truth, and for my own experiences. As a survivor of that egregious crime I'd like to see the perpetrators rot in prison.

Law of unintended consequences: If you started the mandatory killing of all child molesters it is likely more of them would kill their victims to keep the victims from talking.
