There are few people in the world more ridiculous than reactionary right-wingers who view themselves as libertarians. They are the undisputed masters of the DARVO method, projecting their own bigotry and ignorance onto their opponents. Their arguements are entirely without substance and facts, consisting only on their own personal anecdotes.
One of the biggest examples of this is someone named Brendan O'Neill. He's not that well-known, but he is a fucking moron. Like a lot of right-wing self-proclaimed "libertarians," he is homophobic and believes that gay marriage has been "attended by authoritarianism wherever it's been introduced."

Like any right-winger, he loves whipping out the "elitist" stereotypes. Only memebers of the elite are liberals and if you meet a liberal, he's obviously an elitist. This is a self-evident truth that must never ever be questioned lest the general public become *GASP* open-minded and intelligent enough to recognize that people are more complex in the real world than in the mind of simple-minded partisans.
Also, like any right-wing psuedo-libertarians, he's a racist. More, specifically, he thinks that being opposed to racism is an elitist plot to police the working-class.
http://www.spiked-online.com/newsite/article/11963#.VUoY3q3BwXAO'Neill is far too stupid to realize that he's indirectly accusing the working-class of being racist.
Some more of his wisdom: Science is becoming a new religion

Pretty much anytime he writes about anything, he speaks with the smug self-assuredness that is often the hallmark of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
