I got this idea from a different forum I use to frequent. If a ban was about to be issued it would be collected in a thread along with the reasons (usually including the offending quotes) and when/if the ban will be lifted. This way, it allows some level of transparency with the moderators. With regards to recent infighting, I think it would be useful to know if the mods made these decisions public because more often than not a ban does not affect a single poster on this forum.
