As a veteran myself who is a medic when I was on active duty and the reserves now, I have seen and worked with fellow soldiers who suffer from PTSD. The biggest threat a person who suffers from PTSD poses to is usually him/herself. I knew of one guy I worked with who witnessed people dying in Iraq, and came back home with PTSD. He got help when he noticed he was having the signs and symptoms of having PTSD (he's a medic in the Army too).
Sarah Palin's remarks are unconscionable and deplorable. Abusing your partner/spouse is not a symptom of PTSD. Worse, it contributes to the stereotype that war veterans with PTSD are dangerous people who will harm or kill others if they're triggered. Veterans rights groups have been trying to tear down that stereotype, so you can imagine them not being appreciative of Palin's comments.
If any good is to come from this, conservative veterans will think twice about voting for trump as long as Sarah Palin is in the picture.
