There's no way this is new and you guys have all likely seen it before. I don't care. I found this rather touching and wanted to share it anyway. Besides, I like reading
good things out of the mouths of Christians every once in a while too.
http://www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.org/intro.htmlThis website, apparently run by a gay Christian, is set about seeking biblical evidence that fundie hate for LGBT is unfounded, and there may in fact be evidence to the contrary. This goes far beyond mere reinterpretation, however; the man appears to have done a good deal of secular research on the passages of the bible he talks about as well, including attempting to find meanings of words in their original Greek writing. Among other things, he declares that Jesus acknowledged gays were born that way, and that they have equal standing with everyone else, and that many passages people cite in their anti-gay prejudice are misinterpreted due to prejudice.
I'm not a Christian, as you all know, but his research on the text itself appears to be rather sound, and hearing a Christian perspective that
isn't condemning gays to hellfire... well... it does warm my heart. I won't lie. So even if you've already seen it, take a look all over again at why god does
not "hate fags".
