Guess who found her old gameboy advance but not a charger that seems to work with it?

There have been so many political games that it makes no sense to deny their existence. America's Army for example is/was a shooter that existed just to give good PR to US military and help recruit young players.

And it's not like there is anything wrong with doing a game that has a political message. All art can be used to express such messages.

But Askold, stupid people keep saying that art is apolitical! And that only SJWs put politics in video games! And by "politics" they don't just mean women, LGBT people and people of color! /s

I was just commenting on how often I see GamerGate types bitch about "politics" in video games while being so completely media illiterate that they fail to see how overtly political a game like Persona 5, which stops just short of looking at the camera and endorsing socialism, is.

Funny thing is, you can take or add any politics to any media you want.  Fuck, Jim Sterling did a whole video about the politics he saw in Dark Souls.  Some people can look at Call of Duty and just see a shooter, others can see horrible levels of machismo, jingoism, and racism.  It all depends on how ya look at it.

That's why people say that all art is political. I don't entirely agree with the sentiment, but do fully agree with the related sentiment of nothing is created in a vacuum.

Art is reflective of the people who make it, whether they intend it to be or not. It's similar to the journalism concept of creeping bias. Even if you do everything you can to scrub your opinion out of something, it's virtually impossible to avoid it completely.

Seems like The Gamers(tm) are at it again, mad at a twitch streamer/mod for being trans and a furry SJW

I partly agree with you. I certainly have problems with the council in general and Steph in particular, but I agree that harassing her is wrong. Of course, the fact that she has divisive opinions and seems to be actively trying to troll plays a large part in the backlash she's received, but I'm still firm in my condemnation of the harassment she's getting.

Where I disagree is the way you seem to imply that there are no valid criticisms to be made, something even the article you link to disagrees with. Your use of "The Gamers(tm)" I can accept as facetiousness, but the way you treat people as just being mad at her for being trans and a furry is ironmanning a woman who your own article admits is a troll with problematic opinions. Again: just because there are valid criticisms to be made of her does not justify the harassment she's receiving, and I unconditionally oppose it. I said the same things about Jack Thompson and Anita Sarkeesian back when they were in the news partly for the harassment they got. 20 8 1 14 11 25 15 21 6 15 18 16 18 15 22 9 4 9 14 7 13 5 23 9 20 8 1 14 15 16 16 15 18 20 21 14 9 20 25 6 15 18 20 8 9 19 20 5 19 20 15 6 3 8 1 18 1 3 20 5 18 9 23 1 14 20 20 1519 5 5 9 6 15 20 8 5 18 21 19 5 18 19 8 15 12 4 3 15 14 19 9 19 20 5 14 20 19 20 1 14 4 1 18 4 19 1 2 15 21 20 5 24 16 18 5 19 19 9 14 7 15 16 9 14 9 15 14 19

By the way, your profile pic reminded me of a theory I have: that Susie will turn out to be the real protagonist of Deltarune. The shift to her POV is foreshadowing for this.

Think about it: in Chapter 1, Kris never shows much of a personality, and they don't have a significant effect on the events of the plot either. Instead, virtually all the major developments are spurred on by Susie and her friendship with Lancer. Kris ends up in the Dark World because of her, and spends a good chunk of the game chasing her as she runs rampant. And it's her friendship with Lancer that spurs him to overthrow his father.

Not only that, but she has most of the trappings of a protagonist. She's the one who gets most of the character development, starting out as a bully and an outcast before becoming friends with Lancer and later Kris and Ralsei. She's the one who has to deal with the pain of being betrayed by someone she considered a friend. And she's the one who saves another friend from an antagonist who represents a dark reflection of herself in many ways.

Finally, her being the real protagonist would be in keeping with the themes of the game. She has a set background and personality and a lot of what she does is outside the player's control, despite her being one of player characters. It's explicitly stated that choices don't matter and people cannot change in the world of Deltarune, meaning it's only natural that the protagonist is a scripted character who sometimes does her own thing, rather than an anonymous self-insert who obeys the player's every command.

What's the issue with the council. What they do has been explained quite clearly and I can't see anything problematic.

"The Council will advise on a number of topics including:

Drafting new policies and policy updates
Developing products and features to improve safety and moderation
Promoting healthy streaming and work-life balance habits
Protecting the interests of marginalized groups
Identifying emerging trends that could impact the Twitch experience
"

They grabbed people who are familiar with Twitch the toxic side of it and gave them a position to offer their view on what should be done to improve things. Seems like a great way to do this, these are the type of people who can tell if new policies are working as intended or not and likely have a good handle of how things should be improved. I would like to know if they are getting paid for this work but if not, at least them being Twitch Streamers does mean that making the platform a safer place helps them stay on it as well.
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."

I mean fair, she's not got the best optics going in some of those clips but god I can't wait until these people just stop jumping on nontroversies like this. On top of that it's just kind of funny that they fall hook line and sinker for the obviously inflammatory-on-purpose rhetoric. Also Jack Thompson genuinely was a ridiculous fundie and Anita was... perfectly fine, if a bit boring as far as her content goes. So *shrug*.

On your theory though I hadn't actually thought of it like that yet, despite having replayed the game like 3 times. (1 most recently on switch, two on PC) It makes perfect sense to me though, I think I buy it fully too and it makes me look forward to the next episode(s) more than I already have been. Because if it isn't her, than it'd be Ralsei. And Ralsei isn't exactly main Protag tier material yet.

And well Kris is... possibly kind of evil now? So they might be the Big Bad, with Susie needing to stop them.
