We heard someone next to us at a restaurant talk to each other about how they "were republicans for a long time" (implication being that they were no longer republicans), something about stuff being hard to ignore, then one guy saying a little too loudly "You can't change homos!"
I don't necessarily appreciate being proxy-called a "homo", but I shrugged it off and enjoyed the sentiment behind it. Nice to see we weren't the only people disillusioned with the Republican party in this area.
Then on the way home, we saw this guy acting strange by the side of the road... then we got closer and noticed that he was wearing the infamous rubber horse mask.
My mom's words were, and I quote, 'He's... a horse?' I laughed hard. Then had to explain the horse mask thing to her.
There's so little culture here that seeing an internet meme makes it way into this real life area is something special.
