Current Plans:
General becomes Forum games
Newbie, rules, server and custom title threads moves to lounge
In the lounge the quotes threads get unstickied

Since people have made perfectly valid points for keeping the locked box I'll keep it.

A note for people concerned about the quote threads, the necro policy has been revised to be six months out, so long as you add something interesting to the thread. No "lol" or "this" posts six months later, but a new good quote, or whatever that thread happens to be about.

I'm trying to figure which other stickies I can get rid of before I go through and add 4 to the lounge though.

Will you be deleting all the other stickies in the current General area? Most of those seem pointless. Actually, we could maybe get rid of the Server thread you said you'd be moving over, since that seems to somewhat overlap with Krad's "Welcome" thread posted in the Lounge. That could be the new general server thread.

I agree.

The Rules and the Newbie thread are probably the only ones from General that need to be stickied. The ban circumventing thread can just be merged with The Rules.

The "FSTDT Discussion" subforum should be moved to the top with the other site discussion subforums.

If you change "General Discussion" into a games subforum then it should be moved down to right below the FSTDT Lounge.

Also "Preaching and Worship" is useless and should be deleted.

I'll look at moving things around, but for now I'm going to start doing those changes I keep talking about.

One other pain in the ass change I've been considering is combining the best/worst political cartoons/protest signs threads, because best and worst in these is generally just a matter of which side you agree with.

Things will be shifting a bit for a while.

Why would you have to combine them? Wouldn't it be easier just to lock both threads and start a new one?

I've been considering that as well, just seems like a loss not to have the whole history we've put together in the combined thread though.

I'm thinking of adding a 'Society' Forum to discuss the random social issues that typically wind up in flame and burn. mostly to encourage the responses to be more detailed and less, well, F&B.

Anyone else interested? Seems like something that gets more discussion than a lot of what we have.

Are you planning for more-or-less serious and controversial topics like the SJA and the convict sex change threads only, or also odd news items like the 911 call thing?
Some of that also ends up in the Lounge(ex: the restaurant potty training)

Arg, I've been busy, and I feel awkward responding to this late, but here's my two cents anyway:

- Just say no to ProBoards.
- Please get rid of NSFW plox and thx, although keep the non-porny/creeper stuff that's in there, like the Disturbing Images thread, etc.
- I'm also cool with the other ideas and like the idea of the Society board.
