Anyone who shops on Black Friday is fucking insane, and it's one of the most pointless ideas that was ever thought up.

I'm currently working as a dishwasher at a restaurant. Tuesday night, it was so insane with people stopping in for dinner after/during their holiday shopping that I didn't get a chance to eat until after clocking out. Even though one of the cooks came over to unload for me after the dinner rush ended, I still ended up staying half an hour past my scheduled clockout time to finish up. If he hadn't helped, I probably would have missed my subway home.

NOT looking forward to the closing shift Friday and double Saturday, I can tell you.

Maybe it's just because I am tired and mildly dyslexic but I read the title of this thread as Bluck Fack Friday.

And no I didn't go shopping today. I stayed home and watched my Lord of the Rings Extended Edition on DVD.

Actually, as someone who never passes up an opportunity to observe the absolute worst of humanity in action, I'm intrigued to see if they can top last year's mayhem. Pepper spray is so 2011.

I'm so happy I don't work in retail. We have a similar thing here, the Boxing Day sale. It is insane, saving $300 on a TV is not going to be worth it if I have to go to the doctors for severe head injuries.

I weep for humanity, people dragging their kids, who are still in their pjs, along, and it's only 9 am here.  Now that is great parenting. Damn kid needs to be in bed.

Doesn't help that most of the deals really aren't that good or special. I'm always looking for a good deal, but Black Friday usually only has a few deals that are really A: Special or B: Great.

Having worked in both food service and retail on Black Fridays past, I always feel like a survivor in a zombie movie the day after Thanksgiving.  I lock and board my doors and windows, and stay home, behind cover, with weaponry in reach all day.

It's the only day all year that I can refuse to run errands for my wife with no negative consequences.

I've been wondering how many assholes drag their kids along. That's fucking irresponsible. With the crowds and the complete mayhem, it's unsafe and just plain stupid. If you expect your poor kid to get through a shitty shopping trip that early in the morning without throwing a fit in the store, you must have a hollow head. That's another reason I'll never go shopping today -- inevitable encounters with screaming children and their psycho parents.

I worked the late shift Black Friday in retail at Sam's Club.

Was honestly like an average day, just had a lot to clean up from the morning shifts.
