I won't watch through the end because, y'know, boring and long, but it seems this is essentially the same as The End of America, which appeared in late 2010, except with updated references to which year it is.

The DOOOOOM predicted in both videos is supposed to happen "very soon", and yet they are over two years apart. One wonders if he means "soon" relative to geological time or what.

What these dorks don't realize is that gold & silver are just hunks of metal that only have value because we assign it. Gold & silver are also not immune to the ups & down of monetary value. It's like these dopes assume gold has some inherent magical powers of vast infinite value or something.

Gold and silver will keep their value if it is only their country that collapses and the others are still stable. A complete collapse of all countries (which is WAY more unlikely scenario) would probably mean that gold and silver also suffer loss of value.

Also, there is a Finnish short story where a guy has been preparing for the collapse of society by hoarding things of value.

Gold? Silver? No he argues that those aren't any safer than currencies since none of those have any actual use, only the value that people agree for them to have.

He bets on something that people will always need no matter how much the world changes: Booze!

The story is called "Viinankätkijä" (Booze stasher/hider) and the guy spends the extra money he has on booze and then hides it in tiny stashes all over Finland.

Incidentally, I think this particular nut is arguing that it's only America that will fall, so you need gold because the dollar will be worthless as currency.
