While this is all properly frightening, I think Mike (the man in the video) is taking it to an unrealistic, fear mongering level. Are they really going to sue everyone who's ever used the service ever? And put them all in labor camps? Maybe I'm just naive, but I don't think they're going to sue millions of people. Maybe the worst offenders, but surely not everyone?
I tend to agree with you on this. For starts, for them to go after absolutely anyone that has ever uploaded/downloaded/linked to MU or any other site such as this would be a monumental task. We're talking going after millions of people worldwide. That in itself would be a colossal undertaking.
Then, think about the cost. The amount of money that would have to be spent to finance such an undertaking would be staggering. And for what? At 150K per pop, they cannot realistically expect to ever get that money. There's just no way most people would be able to pay it. So then what? They're going to put them in prison if they when they can't pay? Think of the cost to build enough prisons to house them, and then the cost to keep them there. Even if it is a "for profit" prison as he mentions in the video, someone has to pay the cost, which would be the world's governments. Since a lot of countries in the world are already on the brink of bankruptcy, this would quickly push them over the brink. And all this just so the huge corporations can have virtually slave labor? Please.
Personally, I have never even been to MU's website, but I can't be sure that I've never downloaded anything that wasn't copyrighted. But I'm not real concerned even if I have. I can see them going after the owners/officers of these sites and even some of their most prolific users. But going after every person that has ever used the site?
Good luck with that.
