A "true christian's" take on the Philippines.
« on: November 12, 2013, 11:07:42 pm »
What does Jim Solouki have to say  about the typhoon?

Quote
Did you know that God is punishing the Philippines for their tolerance of homosexuality, prostitution, Catholicism, and other sins? The Philippines are about to feel Gods wrath in the powerful form of a cyclone so great that the world has never experienced one of this intensity. If those of you in the Philippines had repented, you would not need to be punished. But you tolerate prostitution, homosexuality, and adultery, and God will make an example of you, much like he has with Haiti.

Hey, at least he gets the attention.
Consumption is not a politically combative act — refraining from consumption even less so.

Yeah, sure. A typhoon in a region that's rather susceptible to typhoons. Yeah, that's totally not normal weather patterns or anything, it could only be the almighty sky fairy throwing a hissy fit. Makes perfect sense.

Given his record for accuracy, I'd say God was probably pissed at the residents of Labrador.

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

You know, they go on and on about how Judas is in hell.  Without him, Jesus' "sacrifice" never would have happened.  He served a critical role in our supposed path to salvation.  Why in the name of sanity would he be tortured if, thru HIS actions, we can seek salvation thru Christ?  Without Judas, we'd have to have gotten our salvation thru malaria or something much less dramatic, and far less interesting.  If anything, Judas is the holiest man next to effing Christ himself.

I think there are some sects of Christianity that believe that Judas's role was so necessary that God essentially forgave him outright.

...Or perhaps I'm confusing Hellsing for reality again.

Kinda sad when anime makes more sense than reality...

I'm actually kinda serious, though, I seem to remember there being a line of thought that actually didn't condemn Judas to hell for being the instrument of God's design.

Problem is, I don't trust my memory much anymore.

Doesn't Judas throw that whole freewill thing Christians are always talking about into a bit of a disarray?

Don't some people argue that Jesus actually secretly told Judas to turn him in to the Romans?
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.
