For starters, he does not act like a politician. When he came out against illegal aliens the voter base loved it, he said the things a politician can't. He's a businessman, and what flag loving Jeebus thumping conservative doesn't like that? He represents what republican voters want from their politicians. Except someone who maybe isn't so brash. They won't vote for him, but there's always going to be that group. Besides, remember the 2008 cycle? Everybody got a chance to be leading the polls.

And most likely, with the sheer number of times he's been mentioned in FSTDT posts, people will forgive him and he'll become the chief front runner again.

I hope he actually makes it past the primaries - it will give comedians plentiful material for months if not the whole year.
