Tumblr vs. 4chan

It looks like the Tumblrites and the 4Channers have finally had enough of each other.

My reaction to all of this:

As someone with blogs on Tumblr, I can say that I'm laughing at the things these idiots are falling for. They're falling for the System32 deletion meme!

I am going to need some popcorn. This is gonna be good.

Seems that 4chan's /Pol/ board might just be the Man Behind The Man to BOTH OF THEM.

Either someone's a magnificent bastard, or there's a strategy in here.

All I can say is, some of the things that some 4channers have been saying makes me laugh at how glorious they think themselves to be - like bastions of internet "sanity" when all evidence points towards them suffering from delusions of grandeur.  Seriously... Anonymous?  You're not making yourselves look cool getting all freaked out about a social site.

All the tumblr reactions I've seen are naive at worst, mocking at best.

I don't think it's to unreasonable to be worried about 4chan doxxing or harassing random blogs, but at this point it's obvious that the worst they can do is "ruin the tagging system" (which makes slightly more sense than there original plan to ruin the Comment section of youtube) and make porn of people's selfies.

At this point it's fairly obvious to Tumblr that 4chan is basically the North Korea of the internet.

You might say so, but from my position inside Tumblr, I can tell you they're still freakin' the fuck out like China was attacking them.

I've been seeing people get angry at what 4chan is trying to do (especially with the photoshopping people's selfies onto porn to "make them afraid of posting photos of themselves on the internet, as it should be", including the photos of minors which is a very bad thing) and giving people information on legal recourse should such a thing happen to them, but then I don't hang out in the same part of tumblr as you do, so I can actually believe that there are people running around like the sky's falling.

I only look at my dashboard and follow blogs that are for the most part gaming related, so my knowledge of the situation is limited. From what I can gather, some SJW's from Tumblr "raided" 4chan's /b/ and /pol/ boards, so 4chan retaliated by "raiding" Tumblr by spamming their tags with "desu" and gore. Am I missing something?

Actually, from what I've heard, the "raid" on 4chan was by 4channers posing as tumblr users.

4chan pretty much has the perfect target in Tumblr. The only way to deal with their raids is to ignore them while the admins take care of the trolls, but most of Tumblr is incapable of not freaking out and giving trolls exactly what they want in the process.

This is true.

...The funny thing is, though, is that 4chan itself is also a great target to troll, so long as you don't make it too blatant (or make it seem like you are someone else, which is what seemed to have happened here.)  Turns out that when you've got thousands of people hiding being "Anonymous", they get pretty overconfident in themselves.

Humanity's full of stupid.

Most of what I've seen of the "raid" has been Tumblr people making fun of other Tumblr people for being such tards. Plus occasional making fun of 4Chan for being a bunch of teenagers and neckbearded manchildren who think that they're tougher than cooler than they really are.
Still can't think of a signature a year later.

So it's even more stupid than I thought it was. Great.
