New raptor found!
« on: November 07, 2015, 10:43:18 pm »
Seriously, a week already and I missed this?

http://www.theguardian.com/science/2015/nov/05/dakotaraptor-feathered-winged-carnivore-south-dakota

A new dromaeosaurid was found in South Dakota back in 2005 and described a week ago. It's called (unimaginatively) Dakotaraptor and was pretty big; around the same size as Utahraptor at 6 feet/1.8 meters tall and 18 feet/5.5 meters long. It lived around 66 million years ago near the end of the Cretaceous, alongside Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops. Evidence of feathers is present on the fossils in the form of quill knobs on its arm bones.

It's so bad-ass looking, I thought it deserved a paste here.
Beware, it's a scrolling massive line drawing. Nine inch long stiletto talons of death on this baby!

I sympathize completely. However, to use against us. Let me ask you a troll. On the one who pulled it. But here's the question: where do I think it might as well have stepped out of all people would cling to a layman.

*looks at ostriches*

*looks at dakotaraptor*

one has a bad temper and a kick that will break your spine. the other actually thinks you're food and it's biologically engineered to frag you in a spectacular way. with most likely a kick that can break your spine, too.

know what? i'm glad to not live in the cretacious.

Excuse me, sir, do you have a minute to talk about your lord and savior, Hannibal Barca?

Yeah, if the pagans are so smart, why did Jesus invade Pagan-land on the back of a dragon and kill them all!

Considering that we're all literally made of science, I'd agree that it is quite unstoppable.

So we're all made out of a method of finding out what we're made of (among other things)?
