4chan also apparently learned all about hacking from Hollywood.

Yeah, I keep seeing that. "BE CAREFUL GUYS 4CHAN IS HACKING ACCOUNTS! IF YOU SEE MY ACCOUNT POST GORE AND PORN IT'S NOT ME!"

Ha ha no. Actually hacking into accounts on a site with decent security is really fucking hard if the user doesn't give you a vulnerability. Almost every instance of "hacking" in modern social media is someone being stupid and letting their password get out, either through giving it to someone or something untrustworthy or opening suspect emails and downloads and getting phished.

Most of what I've seen of the "raid" has been Tumblr people making fun of other Tumblr people for being such tards. Plus occasional making fun of 4Chan for being a bunch of teenagers and neckbearded manchildren who think that they're tougher than cooler than they really are.

So, basically, the pot calling the kettle black.  Bout what I suspected, though I would love to have seen it if it had turned into the Great Bum Fight of the Century.

Seeing as I usually browse /vp/, /vr/, and /tg/, I couldn't care less. 4chan and tumblr are exactly the last places I would go for any sort of intelligent discussion. At least /vp/, /vr/, and /tg/ aren't talking about anything constructive.
I'm in science to discover and analyze God's wonderful universe, not gripe about how people don't like God.  I believe the creation/evolution debate is a waste of Christian brains (we have them, believe it or not) that could be better spent on making actual things.

Favorite philosophers (out of the ones I've personally read): Jesus, Solomon, Marcus Aurelius, Immanuel Kant

I do not know what to think of this story.

If it is true, then...hm, interesting.

If it is false, then its more telling of Tumblr's userbase than it is of 4chan or anyone else.

So far, there's zero evidence of the raid causing any suicides and more evidence indicating that any news of it was faked.

Also, not only are 4Channers trying to pull the "Delete System32" prank on them, people are believing it! They're believing it hard enough that there's more than one Tumblr post telling people not to do it!

Honestly, anyone who falls for that in 2014 deserves what happens to them.

If they're honestly that stupid, they deserve to be locked out of their computer for a while to learn some valuable real world skills.

Tumblr - where learning and being intelligent is ableism.

Frankly, this is one of those "wars" that I somehow wish both sides could lose.
Fundie Doublethink:
* The Bible is the inerrant, literal word of God when it talks about the Earth being created in six days and homosexuality being an abomination. The Bible is a flawed work interpreted by errant humans when it talks about loving your neighbor, turning the other cheek, and the evils of greed.
*  All life is sacred and precious from the moment of conception until the moment of birth.
* You're not a sexist.  You just think women are nothing but baby machines and servants.

They already have.  They're just flailing uselessly at each other, mocking each other, mocking themselves, or so forth.

This isn't a "war" that even has a victor.  Just people full of themselves.

From what I can tell, the whole thing has been mainly forgotten about on tumblr.
The moment everyone realized it was just 12-year-old Haxxors bragging about how evul they were they went back to reblogging annoying fandom bullshit.

I'm still disappointed. I keep going into the 4chan tag hoping someone beat up or killed another person over it

I'm content with the legions that have deleted System32. I suppose the most I could hope for without people harming each other is a teary-eyed video from someone that deleted System32 and wants 4chan to check their shitlord-level privilege.
